New Info for Tekken GBA GBA

The ultra-popular fighting franchise will appear on Game Boy Advance with 3D graphics and several gameplay modes.

GameSpot VG reports that Tekken GBA, in development at Sandbox Studios, will be in 3D, although it's not clear whether that label will apply to the graphics, gameplay, or both. Playable characters will include Jin Kazama, Paul Phoenix, Forest Law, Hwoarang, Gun Jack, King, Ling Xiaoyu, Nina Williams, and Yoshimitsu, according to the report.

GameCube to launch as Nintendo Purple GC

Even though this news is as grating to hear as nails on the chalkboard, PGC is here break the sad news...

No silver, no black, no pink even.

Sad but true. We've been told that when GameCube launches in the US on November 5th, it will be available in only one flavor: Nintendo Purple.

This doesn't mean that there won't be other colors available later on in the system's life time (no kidding). But if you're getting a GameCube on November 5th...it's going to be purple.

InterAct Announces GameCube Line-Up GC

Get the skinny on InterAct's third-party GC peripherals, including memory cards, GC/GBA linkup cables, and...light guns?

Today InterAct finally announced their full line of GameCube hardware. The SuperPad Colors will be their primary controller, and it will retail for $19.99 USD. They'll also have a Four MegaBit (0.5MB) Flash Memory Card, which is the same size as Nintendo's own DigiCard, for $9.99 USD. Also of note is that their GameCube-GBA linkup cable will be available at launch for $9.99 USD.

First Official GC Adverts sighted! GC

Take a look at the first Japanese billboard ads featured during baseball.

Our friends at N-Sider have uploaded what is possibly the first 'official' GameCube advert as sanctioned by NCL:

As you can see it is a simple purple backdrop with the violet GC setup along with the NINTENDO GAMECUBE font logo. To the right there is Japanese writing which says "Nintendo GameCube" in katakana and then "Nintendo" in large kanji characters.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOUIE TEH CAT!!!111

Yes, it's true. The cat is one year older. ALL BOW DOWN TO TEH KITTAH!!!!

Well technically, I'm not sure how old Louie really is. But 3 years ago today, I brought this little furball home from Milwaukee's Humane Society. The cat from hell is officially 3.

So Louie's decided to take a few days and relax with a fresh bag of catnip, and a 12 pack of glitter balls. Leave him alone. It's really a rough life he lives.

Yep, it's official...Import GameCube's will not play US software. Blame IGNCube for the bad news not us!

Not that this is really surprising, but imported GameCube's will not be able to play US software. At least without any future modifications that are still unknown.

This may change your mind on importing next month.

Planet GameCube will be looking into this further...but for now...it looks like importers will have to brush up on their Japanese.

We know it sounds crazy, but hear us out. There's a chance that gameplay footage of Bomberman Generations got mixed in with some GBA video back at E3 2001!

Today a popular Japanese site called GC-Inside posted a short preview for Bomberman Generations, which has been spotted on Space World software lists as a GameCube title.

Hideki Kamiya doesn't think "Devil May Cry" will come to the 'Cube.

In NextGen's most recent magazine, they interviewed Hideki Kamiya of "Devil May Cry" fame. Apparently, Kamiya-san believes the game is not best suited for the GameCube, though he does think that a Xbox version would look better than its PS2 counterpart, if ever made.

New Gaming Expo for Europe

Introducing the World Game Show, an international gaming expo set to debut in Paris next April.

A French site called GameCube-FR has received word that Paris will be the home of a brand new gaming expo called the World Game Show, or WGS. Panasonic begins GBA screen production GBA

Nintendo can't get GBA screens fast enough! So, they're getting help from partner in crime Panasonic.

Sharp has been making screen for the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance. Previously, they were hard pressed to meet the demand for the LCDs. Apparently, they have been so hard pressed that Nintendo is now going to be receiving screens from Panasonic as well. Sample screens have already been shipped.... Read more...
