There isn't much promotional material, but the GCN has a strong presence indeed!
After filling out an application at my local Toys R Us store, I wandered over to the video game section to see what was new. At least at my TRU, the section is partitioned, so everyone must go through a narrow gate (like at airports). Right outside of the gate was a lovely 21" TV (my guess) hooked up to a DVD player that was displaying GameCube love in action.

Wondering when those other colors are coming to Japan? Not any more!
Nintendo NCL has just updated its GCN web page with pictures and dates of the Spice and Jet Black consoles along with the other controller colors. All of the new colors will be coming out November 21st. That's right, The Spice (orange) GameCube comes out November 21st in Japan. This also means that North America is actually getting some products before Japan! This must be a first....

Every other Nintendo has seen a redesign? With the price drops of the N64, will the N64 follow in the footsteps of its console brethren?
"No, we have no plans for that" was the official answer we got from Nintendo of America.
Yah, no tiny N64. Nintendo is all about the GameCube and GBA. So love your N64! If you don't have one, I would suggest nabbing one now. Grab your favorite color immediately. Cause they will be gone.

Well more like Indigo than blue. Those are the only choice for GameCube colors for the US launch. How many will be available of each? PGC has the final answer.
"There will be an even 50-50 split" is what Beth Llewelyn, Director of Public Relations for Nintendo of America told us.
If you're looking for a certain color, better make sure you can pre-order that certain color, or be early in line on launch day. We also asked Beth about other colors in the future...like silver...cough...

The IGN Cube guys score a quickie interview with Neversoft on how Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 for GameCube is coming ...
Great details out of this interview. Of course, the news that THPS3 is going to be out for Christmas is outstanding, but how to the guys feel about GameCube?
Pretty well, apparently. They say they've re-written the display engine from scratch, as well as redoing all of the special effects. They also make note of the full-scene (full-screen) anti-aliasing making the game look great.

No, it's not an official one. The guys over at Portable Monopoly were crazy enough to add their own light to the GBA.
Lots of people complain about the GBA's lack of lighting. I personally get along with it. But some people are just crazy enough to add their own light. That's exactly what Adam Curtis of Portable Monopoly did. He took a pair of LEDs and attached them to his GBA and made a forelight. You gotta check this out. It's insane.

CVG put some of it in their mag, but not all, and poorly written. Fortunately we've gotten our hands on a much better copy. Eat it up! Shiggy is GOD.
