List of announced 2008 lineup composed almost exclusively of Wii and DS titles.
Majesco Inc. recently released financials for the second quarter of 2008. The report showed a slight slowing trend for sales and profit compared to the same quarter in 2007. However, the company's combined earnings for the first two quarters of 2008 are up from last year nearly 50%. Majesco Entertainment released six games this quarter, an overwhelming four were on the Nintendo DS system.

The Blue Bomber returns to his roots.
The latest issue of Nintendo Power has revealed that Mega Man is headed to WiiWare with a new iteration to the mainline series. It has been over eleven years since Mega Man 8 released on both the Sega Saturn and PlayStation, though the Blue Bomber and his accompanying characters have continued to stay relevant through a number of spin-off titles and re-releases.

The team is working to include Wii specific control schemes, strong graphics, and a compelling online experience to create "the best shooter on Wii."
In an interview with CVG, Treyarch, the developers of the upcoming Call of Duty: World at War, revealed a number of new details about the Wii version of the game. According to Treyarch, a special internal team of Wii experts have been assigned to the title and "live, eat and breathe Wii." Even at this point in development, Treyarch believes that Call of Duty: World at War "looks better than any Wii game on the market so far."

EA Sports will soon adopt the "Rock Band peripheral strategy," while keeping in mind that this strategy cannot "raise that barrier of entry and accessibility."
During a lecture at the Paris GDC,Vice President of EA Sports David McCarthy discussed the future of EA Sports titles on the Wii platform. According to McCarthy, peripherals are a step forward for the company's sports titles provided they do not "raise that barrier of entry and accessibility."

Wario and Kirby give the Wii and DS 2D platforming, Mario picks up a baseball bat, and a new puzzle game is coming to the DS.
Nintendo announced today four new titles and their upcoming release dates. Players can expect two new titles for Wii by the end of the summer as well as two new titles for DS in the same time frame.

Nestle announced earlier this week that they had entered into a strategic partnership with Namco-Bandai to pair their Aquapod bottled water with Active Life: Outdoor Challenge for the Wii. Aquapod was unveiled in 2006 as a brand of bottled water aimed at children, a healthy alternative to soft drinks.

The next major iteration of Guitar Hero will be the first Wii rhythm title to offer DLC in the form of new tracks that can be played from the SD card.
In a recent interview with Game Daily Karthik Bala, CEO of Guitar Hero World Tour developer Vicarious Visions, revealed that the Wii version of the game will feature downloadable content. Players will be able to purchase and download additional song tracks for the rhythm game in order to continually expand their selection beyond the songs that ship on the disc. No Wii game prior has featured downloadable content to this extent.

High Voltage Software's Gyrostarr comes online, and retro gamers can enjoy two Virtual Console releases from the Sega Master System and Neo Geo libraries.
America gets its sixteenth WiiWare game this week in Gyrostarr, which is High Voltage Software's second title on the platform to date. Also, the platformer Alex Kidd in Miracle World becomes the third game available from the Sega Master System, and beat 'em up Burning Fight the twelfth from the Neo Geo.

Atlus announced early this week that the sequel to Izuna: The Unemployed Ninja will feature reversible covert art. The backside of the cover art for Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns will depict "a beautifully-rendered bust-up portrait" of Izuna. Consumers merely need to slip out the cover slip, turn it over, and re-insert it into their DS game cases to be greeted with the following visage of their favorite itinerant ninja.

Atlus brings gamers talking shovels, custom lairs, and lots of monsters to kill.
Atlus announced last Thursday that their latest RPG, Master of the Monster Lair, is coming to the DS this September. Master of the Monster Lair puts players in control of designing the very dungeons they hunt monsters in.
The player takes control of a young lad who happens upon a talking shovel. The trusty talking shovel forces the player to begin building a dungeon in order to catch the monsters overrunning the town of South Arc.

Penguin United announced Thursday that their Dual Charge Station accessory, for Wii, has launched to retailers nationwide.
The Dual Charge Station consists of a docking bay and two NI-MH Wii Remote battery packs. The battery packs are rapid charging with an LED indicator to cue the user when the batteries are charged.

Recently Hudson opened a website for their upcoming virtual aquarium WiiWare title Blue Oasis.
