With E3 upon us, the world has been bombarded with beautiful GameCube shots, but they have a few jaggies.
Anyone who's been following this chaotic story, is probably wondering what is going on with GameCube and SPAA (sub-pixel anti-aliasing). Well, we're wondering too actually. None of the games on the show floor were using any anti-aliasing (but they still look fantastic). In any case, Nintendo's spec sheets say that SPAA is a feature in hardware, and it's supposed to come in two flavors: 2x and 3x SPAA. We don't yet know why none of the games are using it at E3, but I can give you some good news. On simple analog TVs that only output an interlaced TV, the games look anti-aliased. We'll find out more about GameCube and anti-aliasing soon. Stay tuned.
