Some big movers in the retro space

A couple of 90s classics will be returning to Nintendo platforms via the Switch.

Hudson and Konami will be releasing Super Bomberman R in March. The first original Bomberman game on a Nintendo console in over 15 years will feature 2 player co-op and an 8 player battle mode.

Capcom is returning to Street Fighter II as well with Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers. No release date was given for the game, but it will feature co-op and versus modes plus "Evil Ryu" and "Violent Ken" in addition to the classic Street Fighter II lineup.

Excited for Bomberman.

But we've had two different 8-player Bomberman titles on the DS.

Gimme MMO Bomberman with 100+ players in a match. :D

Seriously, though... wonder what convinced Konami to bring out Bomberman?

If it's anything like the recent Momotaro Dentetsu for the 3DS which was another longtime Hudson title, Nintendo stepped in and payed for it.

Hopefully Nintendo has plans to try and save more of Hudsons old IP's.

Everytime someone starts a 'what should Nintendo buy' thread, I always think Bomberman is *the* brand they should pick up.

I can certainly say I was not expecting Bomberman. A nice surprise!

I wonder if Bomberman will end up as a playable character in the next Smash game. I recall that he was very close to getting into Brawl. Would be a fitting home for such a fun classic series.

It's pretty clear Nintendo is being MASSIVE scumbags.

When Nintendo foot the bill for that other thing I kept wishing that they'd do the same for Bomberman. Getting Bomberman in Smash is one of my silent dreams. I would have been more vocal about it if I thought there was a chance. Now though I believe in miracles once more. Come on Sakurai!

I missed out on the last few bomber man games so I'm going to be sure to get this one.

Last one I bought was the WiiWare game with 8-player local. So long as I can do local play I will be getting this one.

I'm thinking the reason why we haven't seen #Smash4Switch is because Sakurai is busy adding characters.  Hopefully Bomberman is one.
