What're Fran and Matt doing at a Majesco's post-GBA event party?

After yesterday's Majesco Editor's Day press event, the cool company from beautiful Edison, NJ (not too far from my home town) held a private party at the Blind Tiger Lounge in San Francisco's Chinatown. So if it was a party after a GBA event...what were Matt Casamassina and Fran Mirabella from IGN Cube doing there? Damned if I know...but I doubt it had anything to do with free food and an open bar.

We've gathered a bunch of pics. of what the Japanese launch looked like. Sure would have loved to have been there!

Plenty of people camped out overnight in Japan. The streets of Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Akihabara were filled with anticipation of the pending launch of Nintendo's new handheld, the Game Boy Advance.

Here's a glimpse of what it looked like!

Majesco showed off six GBA games at today's Editor's Day event, three of which were playable, and Ed was happy to get his grubby hands on them. Hands-on impressions!

Well, the Game Boy Advance launch is just around the corner and Majesco was kind enough to let members of the gaming media take a peek at what's in store. Of the games shown, 3 were fully playable: Earthworm Jim, Iridion 3D, and Pitfall: The Mayan Adventures. The others (Fortress, F-14 Tomcat, and Dark Arena) were briefly demoed but still needed some work before they were fully playable.

Well, Day 2 is over...and once again it's late, I'm tired, and I have to be up again in a few hours.

Day 2 has passed and it wasn't all that different from Day 1. And, like my pre-show impressions, I'm going to slack here so I can feed myself and get as much sleep as I can before waking up early again to hit Day 3. WORD! Looks like in the next 24 hours GBA will be hitting Billy's apartment...

I've been pacing frantically in front of my computer for the past 48 hours or so waiting for any sign of shipping information on my import order.

Castlevania and Konami Krazy Racers on GBA are set for a European release...and you know what that means...

Konami of Europe will have Castlevania and Konami Krazy Racers (All-Star Wai Wai Racing in Japan) prepped for the European GBA launch. This is the first mention of either game being released outside Japan at all, and is probably an excellent indicator that they'll be available in North America either at launch or in the next few weeks.

You loyal European readers now have a specific date for handheld lovin'...and it won't be long at all.

According to FGN Online, Nintendo will launch the Game Boy Advance in Europe on June 22, just eleven days after the North American launch. (And you won't have to wait for any damn PAL conversions either.) Hurray!

How big is a GBA compared to....Salad?

Would you camp out overnight in the streets of Japan for a GBA? Of course you would.

Camping out over night in Japan for the GBA, or any system in my opinion would be an honor. Where it all happens. To be the first in the world to nab the tiny tendo badness. Day 1 has come and gone at GDC and so has Nintendo...er, well, actually, they didn't really even come so it wasn't hard for them to go.

Activision is bringing ID software's Doom to everyone's favorite new portable!

Frag fest coming to a GBA near you! One word...multiplayer! Word. Activision has revealed all six of their planned GBA developments...

The six titles are all based on Activision's franchises and include Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX, Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder, Doom, Spider-Man and X-Men.

OK, so maybe it isn't... but for all of you geeks out there who've been caught up in a certain saying I have but one thing to say: Somebody set up us the bomb.

Planet GameCube goes deep undercover to find out what the GBA Import Scene is like from the importers themselves.

According to IGN, Dinosaur Planet is a lock to appear on Gamecube.

While not confirmed by Rare yet, "sources" are saying that Dinosaur Planet was scheduled to becoming a Gamecube title around November of last year, undoubtedly to help pad Nintendo's launch lineup.

No word yet on if the rumors are true, and Nintendo is pushing Rare to turn Dinosaur Planet into a "StarFox" title.
