Capcom has acknowledged and will be fixing the mistake.

Box art of the North American version of Resident Evil: Revelations has a typo, publisher Capcom acknowledged.

Images circulating the internet via Twitter, revealed that the typo is not just an isolated incident. The side of game's box reads "Revelaitons" instead of "Revelations."

Capcom's Christian Svensson responded to the issue, "We're aware that this has affected a portion of the production run. There's likely to be some news to follow closer to launch on this topic." A Capcom representative followed up, "It has come to our attention that there was a misspelling on the Resident Evil: Revelations packaging, We apologise for the mistake, which will be corrected for subsequent productions of the game. We are working on a solution to provide affected customers with the correct packaging. Please visit Capcom-Unity for updates."

This isn't the first time that Capcom botched a game cover. Previously, Capcom shipped Okami box art with an IGN watermark included. They offered free replacement covers through a form on their website.

The game is set to release in North America on February 7.

Funny how this got past QC for a portion of the units. Hope there is an Okami-Wii-esque way to fix it.

Actually, I don't think I ever got the replacement box art for Okami (Wii).

So, do they mean the initial NA release will include the misspelling? Some have suggested this could be part of the price drop; I have no idea. Personally, I reluctant with the $50 price. However, since the price drop I’ll probably get this day one now; and I would prefer to get a misspelled label for it’s singularity.
What’s weird is I just checked Gamestop.com and they have lowered the RE: Revelations game price to $39.00, and still have the Circle Pad Pro for $19.99. But for some reason they still have the game and CPP bundle for $69.99. I paid that much for the Skyward Sword Bundle, which was justified. I can only assume the price will be fixed before the NA launch.

That's a carton of grog for someone.

I think it'd be a good idea to fix the mistake on new printed coverart pages, and just send one to whoever got a messed up one.

It just boggles the mind how something like this could happen.

Especially from such a big company and with such a high profile game.

Btw, this is still funny .... http://nintemple.blogspot.com/2012/01/nano-assault-box-art-blunder.html

Yikes, how's that for a last minute "hey Barry can you just quickly write out the spine text  for Resident Evil, hurry up we're off to the pub in a a minute"

PS: For our British readers, even the title of this article was misspelt  :P:

He spelled "apologize" wrong in his apology.

But the British readers don't get the typo on the spine anyway because the European cover used the styled logo on the spine.
