EA Sports Active 2.0 is coming this fall with new controllers and a robust online hub.
EA Sports is adding a heart monitor, a wireless control system, and an online hub to the tentatively titled sequel, EA Sports Active 2.0.
Coming this fall to Wii, the next game in the series adds new leg and arm straps that come with built-in motion sensors, as well as a heart rate monitor that will monitor players during their workouts.

The details are scarce, but prepare to bring the Rock this holiday season.
Today Harmonix stated on their Facebook account that EA would be distributing Rock Band 3 this holiday season.
Although they didn't give many details, they did state that the game will "innovate and revolutionize the music genre once again, just as Harmonix did with the original Rock Band, Rock Band 2, and The Beatles: Rock Band."

The creators of Art of Balance reveal their next WiiWare project.
Shin'en, the company behind Fun! Fun! Fun! Mini Golf and Art of Balance, announced their latest WiiWare game, Jett Rocker.
The title is a 3D action/platformer that will have players visiting the planet Yoroppa as it is attacked by the evil Power Plant Posse. Jett will use a Jet Boat, parachute from giant cliffs, use a snowboard, and fly with his Jet Pack.

Four Lady Gaga songs, along with the South Park rendition of "Poker Face," will be downloadable next week.
Harmonix and MTV Games are bringing Lady Gaga to Rock Band next Tuesday with four downloadable songs, including "Bad Romance," "Just Dance," Monster," and "Poker Face."
Additionally, South Park character Eric Cartman's rendition of "Poker Face" will be released as well.
Each song will be 200 Wii Points ($2) and will be available on March 16.

The creators of Nintendo's Hotel Dusk and Trace Memory suffer financial troubles in Japan.
On March 1, developer Cing began the process of declaring bankruptcy in Japan. The company currently lists a debt of 256,000,000 yen (2.5 million USD), and their case is being handled by Japanese legal firm Mihoko Kido.

The sequel will feature more words, D-pad controls, and new puzzles. UPDATED with official press release.
5th Cell is readying a sequel to Scribblenauts for a fall release, according to an article from next month's Nintendo Power.
Once again exclusive for DS, Scribblenauts 2 will feature improved controls, which were a big issue with the first title. There will now be D-pad controls for the on-screen avatar, as well as improved stylus controls. The developers also promise that the camera will be better.

See Commander Video run in this new trailer for the next game in the Bit.Trip series.
Gaijin Games released the first gameplay trailer for Bit.Trip Runner, the fourth game in their Bit.Trip WiiWare series.
Unlike the previous games, however, players will control Commander Video directly. Runner will be a platforming title in which Commander Video runs through the stage. Players will make him jump or slide in order to avoid the obstacles. Like previous Bit. Trip games, Runner will have rhythm-focused gameplay.

Shaun White trades his snowboard for a skateboard in his upcoming Wii game.
Ubisoft has announced that they are working on a third Shaun White title for Wii. Unlike the first two titles, however, it will be a skateboarding game.
Shaun White Skateboarding will be developed by Ubisoft Montreal, and is slated to be released this holiday. White expressed his enthusiasm in an interview with Los Angeles-based radio station KROQ.

The outspoken creator of Dead or Alive and the 3D Ninja Gaiden games is back.
Tomonobu Itagaki, who created the Dead or Alive series and the 3D Ninja Gaiden titles while head of Team Ninja at Tecmo, is working on a new game for Valhalla Game Studios, according to Famitsu.
His team at Valhalla Game Studios, which was formed by former Tecmo employee Satoshi Kanematsu, is made up of other former Team Ninja employees, and their upcoming title is still unannounced. The platform for his game is currently unknown.

The Los Angeles-based development studio shrinks by 14 members.
Publishing giant Electronic Arts has let go of 14 members of EALA, the development studio behind Wii-exclusive titles Boom Blox and its sequel Boom Blox Bash Party.
Former EALA employee Jeff Dixon said that the developer had been working on a game for Xbox 360's upcoming Project Natal add-on.

EA Sports Active has earned publisher Electronic Arts $125 in profit since its 2009 launch, according to the publisher.
The exercise title has been EA's best-selling game on Wii, selling over 600,000 copies in its first two weeks. Additionally, EA Sports President Peter Moore said it is one of the top 20 best-selling Wii titles to date.

NHL Hockey returns to Wii in a big way.
NHL 2K11 will be coming to Wii as an exclusive title, according to Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick. The series, which debuted on Wii in 2008 with NHL 2K9, has seen reduced sales as of late, and many thought that the series had potentially been cancelled. The series wasn't even listed in a December financial report.

The story-focused trailer shows off Samus' voice.
Nintendo released a new Metroid: Other M trailer that is comprised of cut-scenes that show off the heroine Samus Aran talking about how she feels, and how she is young and naive.
This also gives fans a chance to hear Samus' much talked about voice acting, which has been the main source of criticism for the upcoming game, which is set for a June 27 release in North America.
