The tribute to Sega kart racer may end up on Nintendo's newest systems.
The sequel to 2010's Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing could be coming to the 3DS and Wii U, an anonymous source told Sonic Stadium recently.
The source told Sonic Stadium that he talked to one of the high ranking staff members at Sumo Digital (the original developers of the first game) regarding any new projects in the works. The response was as follows:

According to a retail insider, SoulCalibur V may be coming to the 3DS.
SoulCalibur V, the latest addition to Namco Bandai’s popular fighting series, may be coming to the 3DS. According to website Nintendo Life, a retail insider revealed that the game is currently listed for pre-order at an unknown chain. However, Namco Bandai has yet to confirm the game’s existence.

The other eShop samurai game will be released in North America in two weeks.
Sakura Samurai: Art of the Sword will be available February 2 on the 3DS eShop in North America. It will cost $6.99.
Sakura Samurai, developed by Nintendo, promises precision sword-fighting on a quest to rescue Princess Cherry Blossom. You fight waves of enemies and epic bosses, stopping at villages along the way to get new gear and interact with the townsfolk.

Sakurai confirms that the 3DS title will be ready to land later this March.
Production on Kid Icarus: Uprising is complete, Sora head Masahiro Sakurai confirmed.
As reported on the developer's Twitter account today, the title has gone gold, meaning the game is ready for mass production.
In the post, he also made sure to praise those who have worked on the project, and joked that he can finally rest on Saturday and Sunday.

hand corner of the game box. The logo is reminiscent of the RSS logo and uses the same font as Nintendo Zone. The logo did not appear on art distributed to online retailers.

3DS owners can receive 3D Classics: Kid Icarus at select retailers, game will come with 3DS stand.
Pre-ordering Kid Icarus: Uprsing at GameStop, Best Buy, or Amazon will earn North American customers a download code for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus, a remastered version of the NES original. The remake, though faithful to the original, contains new backgrounds and 3D graphics.
Download codes for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus were previously given away in Europe as part of a Club Nintendo promotion.

A special edition bundle and a 10th anniversary set are also on the way.
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will be released in Japan on March 29, Square Enix recently announced. Previously Square Enix had only said that it would come out in March of this year.
Square Enix also announced a special edition 3DS bundle to go along with Kingdom Hearts 3D's release. The 3DS will feature decals based on the series. Price for this bundle has not been announced.

The holidays are over, which means that sales have gone down.
Japanese sales data from January 9 through January 15 show a drop in sales due to the end of the holiday shopping season.

The Final Fantasy musical game will have more songs beyond the initial set of tracks.
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy will feature downloadable songs, character designer Tetsuya Nomura confirmed in an interview with Famitsu.
It is not clear if the additional songs will be added to the rhythm game for free, but paid downloadable content will not arrive on 3DS until the spring. The game is set to be released in Japan on February 16, with a new demo showcasing some new songs coming in early February.

On March 1, 2012, Konami will be dissolving the entirety of Hudson Soft.
A notice posted by the developer revealed that the company, as well as all of their intellectual properties will be absorbed by Konami. The agreement was reached during a board meeting on January 12, part of an effort by Konami to pool all of its development resources into one company.

Ubisoft's Vancouver studio has been shut down, the company recently confirmed.

Playable demos are coming to the eShop in North America and Europe starting tomorrow, more than a month after demos launched in Japan.

A new Pokémon arcade game has been released by Namco Bandai. The game, titled Pokémon Medal World, is a simple medal game (games which trade real money for medals used to "gamble" for prizes), aimed at players of all ages.
The game allows up to four players on one machine thanks to the large benches around the unit, and features original video to accompany the gameplay.
