As DSiWare begins to fade into the eShop background, we get some confirmation of its size.

The limit on DSiWare games is 16 megabytes, according to an anonymous developer source who was limited by the restriction.

The news was previously known, but the re-confirmation of the restriction is a reminder of the limitations of the service, which will be available on 3DS systems tonight when the next system update opens up the eShop.

Amazing that they can cram a game like Pinball Pulse or March of the Minis in that space.

Wow, and people think the Wii Shop limit is tiny.

Will developers be switching to 3DSWare immediately or will some still do DSiWare?

I thought the Wiiware size cap was bad at 40 MB / 320 blocks.

Has Nintendo mentioned anything about a 3DSware size limit?

I'm going to bet that the 3DS shop will have a limit of <100 mb. It's not like it has a huge hard drive.

Since the 3DS has 2gigs built in that would suggest a dramatically larger limit. Didn't DSi have 256 MB internal storage, compared to Wii 512 . ( Wii 40/512 , DSi 16/256 )

Anyone notice the pattern?  3DS has 4x limit of Wii so it should be about 4x the space ?? So about 160 / 2000

Hopefully, there won't be a defined size limit.  I wonder if you will be able to download directly to SD card and launch the game (or even run it) from the SD card.  That would provide developers some options.  I just don't want to see another super meat boy developer situation.
