Also, the return of the dreaded friend code.
Super Street Fighter IV 3D is proving to be a robust game with a majority of the features found in other versions of the game, according to Famitsu (via andriasang.com).
The Internet Versus mode, which features lag-free multiplayer according to the developers, allows you to play quick, custom, or friend matches with players across the country. Friend matches will use friend codes, but it is not specified if it uses a system-wide friend code or a game-specific one.
The local multiplayer features the standard one-on-one fare, and also has a neat twist on download play. Owners of the game can send it to players who don't own the cartridge, and those players will still be able to play each other when the host leaves.
The Arcade Challenge mode, which was present in other versions of Street Fighter IV, is enabled, so rivals can challenge players locally or online while they play arcade mode.
While online, players earn BP (battle points) when they win bouts. They can also display a comment that appears before the fight. The game will also have achievment-like medals that will unlock as players complete specific tasks.
Super Street Fighter IV 3D is due out on February 26 alongside the Nintendo 3DS launch in Japan.
