I've somehow convinced two more people to write for us. I don't know how I do it either.
We're always on the lookout for fresh voices here at Nintendo World Report, and with that in mind I'd like to announce the addition of two new writers to our staff.
Andy Goergen, a.k.a. DrewMG from our own NWR Forums, has most recently been writing blogs for The Goozex Report. He will be providing news and reviews, and will also provide in-depth coverage of the drinking habits of Nebraska Cornhusker football fans.

The classic series returns in an all new 2D adventure that includes co-op play and 2 secret characters.
Konami announced that the brand new WiiWare installment in their fast-paced action series, Contra Rebirth, will be available for download on the Wii Shop Channel this coming Monday in North America. Developed by M2, makers of Gradius Rebirth, the game will feature 2D sprites, local co-op play, and classic weapons, like the Spreadshot.

Majesco is bringing a collection of classic arcade games, like Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja, to Wii.
In its capacity to rate upcoming game software, the Entertainment Software Rating Board occasionally reveals upcoming games before they've been announced through traditional channels. Developed by Treasure, the sequel to the N64 classic will be released next month in Japan.
An updated listing on Nintendo's Japanese release calendar revealed that the sequel to Treasure's N64 shooter Sin and Punishment will see an October 29 release in the land of the rising sun. The game was playable at E3 and is slated as a first quarter 2010 release in America.

With the release of The Beatles: Rock Band next week, almost every song has been announced as 19 more were recently unveiled.
Coupled with the 25 previously announced songs, the total number of announced songs is now up to 44. That just leaves one more to be announced before its September 9 release.

The Wii's Internet Channel gets an update and a new price tag.
Today Nintendo updated the Wii Internet Channel in all regions. The new version of the Internet Channel upgrades the Adobe Flash Player from version 7 to Adobe Flash Lite 3.1, the Lite equivalent of Adobe Flash 8. Flash 8 includes H.264 support, which means that most modern Flash videos should now work with the browser.

The GameStop Manager Conference brings about news about Wii Fit Plus and new colors for Wii Remotes and the DSi.
At the GameStop Manager Convention in Las Vegas, Nintendo announced the release date and final price for Wii Fit Plus. Wii Fit Plus will be released for $19.99 and hit stores on October 4. In addition to the stand alone version a version that includes the Balance Board will replace the current Wii Fit package and will retail at $99.99.

War is officially declared in September.
Big John Games has announced a new DSiWare titled named Thorium Wars. A futuristic vehicle shooter, Thorium Wars has the player defending a devastated world from the Thorions, a race of powerful machines fueled by Thorium fuel cell technology. The goal of the title is to develop the right strategies in order to drive off the Thorions from the conquered lands.

The legend goes portable next year.
With their WiiWare title Furry Legends nearing completion, Gamelion has announced on their official blog that the property will also be hitting DSiWare in 2010. The DSiWare version will be a prequel to the WiiWare title, taking place long before the invasion of the Squaries. It will be a 2D platformer with puzzle and action elements, along with hand-drawn graphics and realistic physics.

The colorful WiiWare adventure is coming out in September.
Exkee Games has announced that their WiiWare title, ColorZ, will hit the North American WiiWare service on September 7 and will be priced at 700 Nintendo Points ($7). The game has been available on the European WiiWare service since July 24.
ColorZ takes places in a colorful world invaded by a terrible virus that has created thousands of microbes. Players will take control of UFOs who try to rid the world of this threat once and for all.

A puzzle-platformer set in a unique world made out of paper comes to WiiWare.
Broken Rules has announced that their PC/Mac game And Yet it Moves will be coming to WiiWare.
This puzzle-platforming game allows the player to inhabit a world made out of ripped paper. In order to explore the 17 stages and solve puzzles, players can rotate the level 90 degrees and uncover new passages. Walls become floors and passage ways become slides when turning the game's world on its side.

Capcom's on-rails shooter sequel is hitting stores on November 17.
Today, Capcom announced a November 17 release date for Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles.
The game, a sequel to 2007's Umbrella Chronicles, is a cooperative rail-shooter that features levels based off of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica.

Nintendo's partnership with Sega goes one step further.
Nintendo has announced that they will be publishing Sega's Sonic Rush Adventure in Korea. The DS game will be handled as a full-fledged Nintendo title.
