The second biggest cluster*radio edit* shadowdrop in Sega history, but it's a looooooong way off number 1.
It's the fifth anniversary of Sonic's 30th Anniversary and Sega is bringing back a Switch hit on Switch 2.
The embattled Sonic Frontiers is now available on the Switch 2 in a "Definitive Edition" version that rolls up all of the game's content updates as well as most of the downloadable content (some Japan-exclusive DLC is not available). The MSRP is $49.99 or equivalent, and there is no discount upgrade option.

The haters said that Star Fox (2026) was an N64 game with furry V-Tubers. And they were correct. Honestly, a tremendous call by the haters.
This week offers a major first party release for Nintendo as the preloads come online for Rhythm Heaven Groove... oh, Star Fox is coming too. Another system software update has come to the Switch family, and somehow the Switch is the primary beneficiary.
The version 22.5 update can now be downloaded from the Settings menu, and makes a few changes in addition to the usual stability updates.

Capcom bringing big guns - literally.
Capcom announced Switch 2 releases for three different games in today's Nintendo Direct, including one day and date with other platforms.
The first of the 3 to release is Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, which will be available on June 23. The game's previously separate downloadable content will be included in the Switch 2 release.

One of the more unique indie titles coming to Switch 2 got a date today.
As part of a new trailer for Orbitals, the two player run and gun based on retro anime, the Nintendo Direct confirmed it will launch on September 3. Pre-orders are available on the eShop now.

Tomb Raider and SnowRunner, come on down!
As we've come to expect from a Nintendo Direct, two full games are shadowdropping on the eShop today: 2015's Rise of the Tomb Raider and 2020's SnowRunner.
SnowRunner had already been released on Switch in 2021, and now we have a dedicated Switch 2 version of the simulation game that also comes as a free upgrade for owners of the original.

Split between the single and multiplayer - yes, it has multiplayer.
Rhythm Heaven Groove is not lacking in content, as confirmed in today's Nintendo Direct.
The opening game of the show showed an extended gameplay trailer for the July 2 release, and confirmed there would be more than 80 single player minigames and more than 30 multiplayer ones (up to 4 players).

Nintendo Switch Sports is coming to the Switch 2 with a bit more of a tropical setting.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort was announced today for release on October 22. Twelve minigames were announced, including traditional sports like golf and basketball but also adding the... sport... of thumb wrestling (which received an extended demo).

Technically this is a very large portion of the game.
During today's Nintendo Direct, a brief trailer for Star Fox (2026) was shown featuring some new footage of a few classic bosses. The big news however was that the game will receive a free demo later today. The demo will contain the training mode along with the first stage, Corneria Meteo. The full game releases later this month on the 25th.

A Splatoon Raiders-specific Nintendo Direct was announced in today's showcase to air on June 30 (time TBD). The new presentation was included in other events including a Nintendo Today-exclusive comic series and a Splatfest in Splatoon 3 July 10 - 12.

Nintendo and Koei Tecmo confirmed today that the smash hit Pokopia will be getting several updates with both free and paid downloadable content. In the first free update you gain access to the move dive, which allows you to explore undersea habitats and expand the towns underwater. The free update will be available in August.
