The N64 release list has Dr. Mario on call...
The N64 is on its Deathbed—call a doctor! No, not Jack Kevorkian!!! Get Dr. Mario on the line!! We just got a surprising announcement from Nintendo. No, it wasn’t the promised “official statement” on Metroid GBA (yet things on that front are getting interesting) and instead pointed us to Nintendo's... Read more...

Consoles-France "reveals" that Metroid GBA will be a new game rather than a port of an old one ala Mario Advance.
OK, I'm gonna start off by saying that we here at Planet N2000 are filing this story under rumor. We have our doubts, for some reason or another. According to The Nintendo Project, Metroid GBA is under development. Also, it will be an entirely new Metroid game, not a port of a old one. The Nintendo... Read more...

Want to import a GBA before the US luanch? We're here to help.
Who wants a GBA? Ummm...stupid question. Nabbing one up at import time is going to be a bit tricky. Not only that but it looks like you will have to import a GBA plus at least one game. Hot off the heals of Buy-Rite's pre-order listing, National Console Support (a highly recommended import place on... Read more...

Justin comments on todays "letters" section at Daily Radar. A very interesting section with the recent Imagine Media vs. Nintendo lawsuit.
After their first volley of letters contained little to no criticism of anybody except Nintendo (they supposedly just took the first 20+ letters they got without looking at their content... uh yeah) it appears the angry masses made enough noise that last night's letters update included some major... Nintendo reacts to Daily Radar's reaction regarding the Pokémon licensing dispute.
You know, sometimes Nintendo can make me very happy and this is one of those days. Of course info like a new 1080 coming down the pipe is all good and other little tidbits you pick up and aren't allowed to post are even better... but then to see something like this press release also puts a smile... This link would work under normal circumstances...
Some of you who also frequent the Nintendorks website will surely have noticed that they're having some problems. Tech-head Jon Miller told me that they're having server troubles, and on top of that, his cable internet at home crapped out for a couple of days. No word on when things should be working again, but I'll let you know at that time.

Would you like to pre-order a Japanese Gameboy Advance? Well, get in here and plunk down some cash!
I know Billy has been looking for GBA info high and low for awhile & luckily thanks to a fine tip, we've finally come across some. It turns out that Buyrite is now accepting pre-orders for Game Boy Advance. The price for a GBA including Mario Advance is $199.99. Buy-rite claims that all pre-orders will be honored and that they will try (but cannot promise) to give you the color of your choice.

Penny Arcade tackles the Daily Radar law suit. a URL LINKS TO PN2K editorial
It's been a crazy couple days, what with the Metroid rumors and new game announcements. In the background of it all lurks the horror of the Stupid Story that Would Not Die. A few days ago, when Daily Radar (I'm not even gonna bother linking it,

A Sequel to 1080º Snowboarding by Left Field of Excitebike 64 fame?? Sounds good to me.
Well, IGN Cube’s broadcast came and went and the boys revealed a scoop that caught us completely off guard—yet smiling all the same. Although Left Field aren’t making a new Excitebike yet (we hope they will sometime in the future) they will be taking care of development duties on a snowboarding... Read more...

Max admits that he is not, afterall, omnipotent. He also now owes all our readers a Coke.
Well, I'd like to say that as Editor-in-Chief of PlanetN2000, I am the ultimate Smarty Man of Smarty Men! Of course, time and again I am exposed for the phony I am -so it's a good thing I don't boast like that! Early this morning (and I mean like nearly 12 hours ago) I found out that Left Field Studios... Read more...

OK, so IGN Cube announced last night that Left Field Studios is working on an all new Courtside game that may or may not involve Kobe Bryant and will be playable at E3 2001. Mr. Driller 2 for GBA launch. Mr. Driller = Good!
Oh man! The GBA love continues to flow. Namco has announced that they will have Mr. Driller 2 ready for launch on GBA! Yes, I am down with Drillin!
If you have a Dreamcast and like puzzle games you'll want this game. I've played the hell out of the DC version and would highly recommend this title. No word yet if this title will be reaching US shores...but in my opinion this is another great addition to the Japanese GBA launch line up.

NBA Courtside, with or without Kobe Bryant, is coming to the GameCube and E3.
IGN Cube has learned that Left Field Productions, the creators of the NBA Courtside (with Kobe Bryant) games and Excitebike 64, are working on not one but two games for Nintendo's powerhouse GameCube console. Both of these titles will be playable at E3 2001. IGN Cube released the first title, which... Read more...

Videogames.com (a.k.a. GameSpot) reports that the Kyojin no Doshin series is headed to GameCube. Roughly translated as "Doshin the Giant", the franchise has already had two games...both on the 64DD. For the year 2000... Nintendo had 4x as much revenue as Sony and Sega. Who ever said the N64 was a failure?
PC Data has released it's 2000 sales figures and they show one company WAY ahead of the others. That one company is Nintendo. Despite the fact that the N64 may be failing the Game Boy Color is pulling in tons of dough for The Big N. They finished out the year with $955,169,820. That's almost $1 billion!... Read more...

Could Matsushita's rewritable SD Cards be part of the NGC/GBA connection?
Ed Shih told me he'd post this last night, though I guess he was out partying too long and forgot. You know what that means — he's FIRED! Actually, it means that I have to do it... It also means I will have to send Louie to beat up Ed and take away his medication (firing is too good for that pansy).
