Nintendo to showcase the Nintendo DS and their fall line-up in five cities in Japan
Earlier today Nintendo announced "Touch DS" which will be showcasing the Nintendo DS to the public for the first time ever. All events are free of charge, and Nintendo will be showcasing a total of eighty titles for Nintendo DS, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance combined. General tour dates are below, but please see Nintendo's official page for precise venue information. Each venue will be open from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

Kimi no Tame Nara Shineru - "I Could Die For You."
Famitsu has published some news and images of a new Sega game for the DS, named Kimi no Tame Nara Shineru (or, "I Could Die For You").
It's a mystery-oriented game starring a silhouetted woman. Apparently, there will be little to no dialogue and little use of the control pad. The focus will be using the touch pad to explore the game and change the appearance of your own character. Further details are forthcoming!

The latest issue of Famitsu Weekly is jam packed with information on upcoming Nintendo games. Among the games previewed is MaWaRu Made in Wario. This all new Made in Wario (known as Wario Ware in the states) has a special motion sensor built in that will detect how you move the Game Boy system around.

Now we know how it plugs in and still allows for all four controllers.
The new issue of Famitsu Weekly, Japan's premiere gaming magazine, shows the GameCube Microphone first mentioned a couple of weeks ago in conjunction with new Mario Party 6 information.
As you can see in this picture, the microphone is handheld, not attached to the system or controllers, and it plugs into one of the GameCube's memory card slots. This feature allows it to be used while still having four controllers plugged in.

Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles' lead man says he's preparing for a TGS showing, but will give no details.

TV Tokyo intends to release the show in North American and European markets.
On Monday, TV Tokyo and Capcom held an exhibition of the new Viewtiful Joe anime, which is set to begin airing on October 2nd. TV Tokyo producer Susumu Matsuyama commented that since the original game has been highly praised overseas, they do want to release the program outside of Japan, centering on the North American and European markets which are already familiar with the franchise.

The small development team behind fan game Chrono Trigger: Resurrection has posted some very disappointing news: they have received a Cease and Desist letter from Square Enix demanding they stop making their game. It seems after years of looking the other way, Square Enix has changed its policy on independently-created games honoring their own.

Capcom launches its Japanese VJ2 website, revealing the (Japanese) Subtitle and more details on the anime.
Capcom’s new Viewtiful Joe 2 website has divulged the Japanese subtitle: Burakku firumu no nazo, which translates to “Secret of the Black Film,” which will likely be at least close to the English version’s subtitle.

After years of less than favorable “profit” margins, Acclaim has filed bankruptcy.
Local paper New York Newsday reports that the once-mighty 3rd party publisher filed Chapter 7 at Central Islip’s US Bankruptcy Court in New York. To pay its debt breaching $100 million, the company will liquidate its assets of between $10 and $50 million.

Nintendo buys back shares in Japan to appease investors.
On Friday, Nintendo Company Ltd. (NCL) announced that it will buy back $43 billion yen's worth ($391 million USD, 1 USD=110.051 JPY) of its shares in an effort to boost its stock price and appease investors.
The buyback amounts to 3.6 million shares bought at the Friday closing price of 11,920 yen. The actual transaction took place Monday morning before trading began on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
