Resident Evil 5 and Monster Hunter Tri are sales highlights.
Capcom recently reported on its fiscal first quarter results for the period ending June 30, 2009. Net Sales rose 19.2% to $205 million, Operating Income rose 23% to $38.7 million, and Ordinary Income rose 2.3% to $43.5 million.

Even with strong Wii software sales, Sega reported a net loss in the first quarter of their fiscal year.
Sega Sammy, the parent company of Sega, has reported a decline in sales and a net loss in the first quarter of the 2009 fiscal year ending in June. Sega's revenues totaled $638.44 million, a decline of 16 percent from last year. They also suffered a net loss of $108.66 million in the first quarter, slightly lower than the net loss of $111.19 million that the company reported a year prior.

The newest release of the streaming media server includes a Wii beta version.
MediaMall's PlayOn media server has been available for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and other devices for a while. Thanks to the company's reply to a user email, it has confirmed that the most recent release of PlayOn includes a beta for Wii functionality. After setting up the server on their PC, Wii users need only to access "playon.tv" in the Wii's web browser to start streaming their favorite TV programs.

The Big N and Big Blue look like they're going to be collaborating again.
In late July, workers at the IBM office in East Fishkill, New York were called to an all-hands meeting. This meeting was to announce a new slate of work from Nintendo's Systems and Technology Group, among others. No indication was made as to the nature of the work involved, and apparently no new workers will be hired for this project.

The latest firmware enables Facebook functionality for your DSi.
During Nintendo's E3 press conference, the company revealed that they were planning to allow DSi owners to upload pictures taken with the DSi cameras onto their Facebook account directly from their DSis. The firmware upgrade enables that promised functionality and also increases image display speeds within the DSi Camera application. This firmware was released on July 29th in Japan and July 30th in the PAL territories.

Nintendo has reported a significant decrease in profits and sales in the first quarter.
During Nintendo's recent financial briefing, the company revealed much lower first-quarter numbers than what they reported during the same period last year (the fiscal quarter ending June 30). Their net income decreased by over 60 percent to $445 million, and revenues dropped by 40 percent to $2.7 billion. Overall operating profit dropped 66 percent to $425 million.

Nintendo has revealed two new videos detailing gameplay as both Bowser and the Italian brothers.
Nintendo has just revealed two brand new gameplay videos from the upcoming Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. The title is the third in the Mario & Luigi handheld RPG series.
Players will control both Mario and Luigi as in past titles from within Bowser. Bowser will also be a playable character and players will have the ability to switch between each of the characters and their stories at will.

Ubisoft needs the extra time to polish the game even further.
If the upcoming selection of big Wii titles for 2009 seems slim, prepare for it to get even slimmer. Ubisoft has just announced the delay of Red Steel 2. The sequel to their launch title Red Steel, Red Steel 2 had hopes of slicing and shooting its way to Wii owners during the third fiscal quarter of 2009, but ended up being pushed into the fourth - ultimately giving it a 2010 release.

Nintendo has unveiled eight new items for their Club Nintendo rewards program in Japan.
Recently, Nintendo added eight new rewards to their Club Nintendo program in Japan. The items feature designs of various Nintendo characters, and are similar to other promotional rewards that Nintendo has released in the past.
The first item is the Kirby Flying Disc, which is made out of nylon and sponge and has Kirby's face prominently displayed. Safe for gamers of all ages, the disc is available for 350 Club Nintendo points.
