Mario and Pikachu will also be joined by new Wii Remote colors.
Nintendo has announced the Japanese release date and price for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The newest Mario game will be released on December 3, and will be priced at ¥5,800 ($66 USD).
In addition to news of New Super Mario Bros. Wii's release date, it has also been leaked that two new Wii Remote colors will arrive on the same day. The two new colors will be pink and blue.

The sequel to the WiiWare launch title will be the 100th WiiWare game in Europe.
Today, Frontier Developments confirmed that LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias will be released tomorrow, October 9, on WiiWare in Europe. It will be the 100th WiiWare game released for the European version of the service.

Shenmue's honorable hero returns to the Sega universe.
Sega has confirmed that Ryo Hazuki, star of the ambitious Shenmue games, will be a playable character in the upcoming racing title Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing. Ryo's vehicle of choice will be a moto bike, which was heavily used during the climactic moments of the first Shenmue game. His super star move turns the bike into a forklift truck, Ryo's work vehicle, allowing Ryo to charge through the pack.

Despite a small delay, the WiiWare game is still on track for October.
Medaverse Studios has confirmed that the delay was only for one week and now Gravitronix is set to be released on October 12, next Monday. Last week the development house announced that their first WiiWare game, Gravitronix, would receive a delay due to a clerical mistake on their behalf, and wouldn't be released on the projected October 5 date.

Namco Bandai is developing a sequel in the Taiko Drum Master series for Nintendo's console.
A new listing from Japanese retailer Gmstar reveals that a new entry in the Taiko no Tatsujin (known as Taiko: Drum Master in North America) series entitled Taiko no Tatsujin Wii Dodon to Ni-Dai-Me will be released on Wii. The title is a follow up to the original Taiko no Tatsujin for Wii released last year in Japan.

Evil's afoot in the magical world of Disney.
An upcoming issue of Game Informer has confirmed Warren Spector's first game at Disney Interactive. The title will be called Epic Mickey, and it will be a Wii-exclusive title.
The artwork found on the cover of the magazine paints the Disney universe as one being dark and sinister, akin to the studio's own Nightmare Before Christmas. Players will take on the role of Mickey Mouse as he attempts to save the Disney universe from evil.

Creators of Real Heroes: Firefighter promote fire safety.
Epicenter Studios recently released Real Heroes: Firefighter for Wii, a game that did its best to give a realistic depiction of firefighting. They've now joined the cause of promoting fire safety for everyone during Fire Safety Week (October 4-10), along with the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN). The FCSN is an organization founded to raise awareness of cancer screening and detection among firefighters.

USA Today has spilled some tidbits regarding the latest Rock Band release,Lego Rock Band. Contributing artist David Bowie will make an appearance as a Lego character as he performs his hit "Let's Dance". He will be joining Iggy Pop as the second artist to appear in Lego form.
