Edgeworth returns to solve more contradictions in this logic puzzle.

As per tradition, Capcom brought an incredible booth to TGS this year, highlighting some of their coming games. Last year the most attractive booth was for Okamiden. This year they chose another DS game for elaborate promotion - Gyakuten Kenji 2.

The Gyakuten Kenji 2 play area featured a giant backdrop similar to the first area of the game, manned by young ladies with hair and clothes modeled after one of the series' famous characters, Mikumo Ichijou (Kay Faraday), and was complete with a lifesize model of the main character himself.

Gyakuten Kenji 2 is a 'Logic Simulation Game' in which your goal is to find pieces of evidence and use logic to link them together in order to solve a crime. The game begins with a crime - the visiting president of a Western nation has been shot while giving a speech in the district of the hero, Mitsurugi (Miles Edgeworth). Mitsurugi must solve the case of who shot the president.

One of the new features the game touts is what Capcom is calling "Logic Chess", one part of gameplay where Mitsurugi must use his wits to contradict the logic of those who would try to dupe him, and reveal the truth during the interrogation. Capcom may be calling this "Logic Chess", but in reality it's simply a timed conversation ladder where the player is deducted time if they select the wrong choice.

Fancy names for simple systems aside, what I played of the game was entertaining, and it seems that those who enjoyed the first game should be able to find more of the same in the second game.
