Based around the characters and story of the original trilogy, LEGO Star Wars II builds off of its predecessor's proven game mechanics by adding new features. The vehicle system gets an overhaul, taking them off rails and allowing for seamless transition between on-foot and vehicle travel. Players will also have the ability to import their save game data from the original game, allowing them to use characters otherwise unplayable in the new game.
