Hmm you're quite determined in this, seeing you copy and pasted it from your other forum.  Sad thing is the digital pad on the gc, it's too small for my hands for frenetic 2d shooters.  I'm happy getting Metal Slug for GBA (I know the digital pad is the same size as the gc but the better placement more than makes up for it), and it will further push me to finally get a gameboy player and this wonderful controller YAY.  If that controller is infact compatible with all gamecube games well then I would want Metal Slug made for gamecube, but if its not I have no problem getting Metal Slug 4&5 compilation for PS2... I don't believe the Metal Slug series has done anything graphically that can't be produced on ps2 that would be able on gc.

NEOryu stop putting quotes around every name.  It's quite distracting.

My experience with Metal Slug is limited to playing the first game once in an arcade.  But it kicked so much ass I would be willing to give a collection on the Cube a purchase.  Funny to hear SNK talking about supporting a dying system when they supported their own dying system for YEARS.  I find it insulting that a game like Metal Slug 3 gets ported to the Xbox when it's an undeniable fact that games like that sell like sh!t on the Xbox.  It's a complete waste of time to release any Japanese games on that system.  Aside from Tecmo's games none of them sell.  The PS2 at least makes sense to release games on.

Writing emails won't do anything though.  NCL (not NOA) has to get off their ass and do a better job at courting third parties.  They limit themselves to collaborating with really major third parties for major games.  That's important but they show no interest in attracting minor third parties and getting minor cult third party games.  It's like if it's not a potential system seller Nintendo makes no effort to get it.  Minor titles are important too as they give people choices and they fill up genre gaps in the library.  Part of the PS2's appeal is that it has minor third party games with cult followings.  So if you're a big R-Type or Guilty Gear fan you buy a PS2.  You don't see people buying a Cube for reasons like that and Nintendo would benefit greatly if they did.

Dying System? There's some grain of truth, but it sounds like PR spin so they can justify putting Xbox and PS2 ports. I mean, SNK VS Capcom isn't going to look much better on the 'Box than on the 'Cube... (Though playing it on Live may make it a more attractive option, see Capcom VS SNK 2.)

Back to Metal Slug, It really shouldn't be that hard to port a compiliation (Unless you're Atomic Planet...). Who knows? Maybe have some *gasp* connectivity if said compiliation ever existed. Ikaruga achieved cult status,  I'm postive a Metal Slug compiliation may do the same.

Maybe if you all sent $5 PayPal payments good towards a pre-order for the not-yet-in-development game, it'd turn their heads more quickly.  And possibly break their necks.

Arguably the XBox is more of a dying system than the Gamecube, since worldwide it's in 3rd. That counts double since Metal Slug is a very Japanese styled game.

Also, Capcom vs SNK 2 EO sold better on the Gamecube, I believe.
