Stuck on Metroid Fusion!

I need to know how to get rid of those squirmy things than seem nearly dead.Im stuck on the bit where you need to turn on the auxillary power supply and there is a little thing stopping you from rolling thru after the power bomb entrance from the main area.

I'm guessing those are bugs in cocoons... But you have to go to your ship and talk to it, then the bugs will go away. Did you die then restart at the ship? You have to talk to the computer again if you did.
