Fox moves 24 to Mondays and ruins my life
« on: May 21, 2004, 01:45:29 PM »
http://entertainment.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=158979

The important part of this news blurb: "'24' will shift to Monday in January, the network announced Thursday."

That's the same night and time as WWE Raw.  Raw and 24 are the ONLY current TV shows I even watch.  ARRRRGH!!!!  Sure I could tape 24 (which is an hour shorter than Raw) but my parents watch it too so they'll probably blow the show for me before I watch the tape.  This greatly inconveniences me.

I hate it when networks move stuff around.  I've never EVER understood the concept of putting one really popular show in the same timeslot as another one.  Not only does it make things difficult for viewers it creates direct competition.  Ideally I would think the best plan would be to put the most popular shows in timeslots where they don't have to compete.  That way more people will watch it.

Maybe they didn't intentionally move 24 to compete with Raw since Fox is a network channel and Spike TV & TSN are cable but it still pisses me off big time.

There are more important things in life to get pissed off at than TV shows! Seriously

I always tape Alias, not only because I'm not home when it's shown, but because I like to fast forward past the commercials and save me time.  I watch the show with my mom and sister, so yeah, I'm lucky they wait to watch it with me.

Well DUH.  You could say the same about videogames and thus render this forum virtually useless.

I meant getting upset about.  Sure, I do sometimes get pissed at videogames related news, but I don't let it affect my life.  I don't spend every minute of my day saying to myself: "Damn you <insert publisher/developer>."

It's not something you are going to remember 5 years from now?!

have you considered taping raw and watching 24?  this way your parents won't ruin 24 for you?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I am constantly amazed at the huge amount of intelligent and seemingly intelligent people that watch wrestling. I for the life of me cant figure that one out.
Monday is CSI Miami night for me, I will be damned if they will keep me from Horatio's cheesy one liners.

I've heard the creator of CSI wants to have a different CSI spin off for each night of the week- even if they're good he's only digging the show's grave. THe same thing happened to Law and Order, they just kept creating spin offs and eventually everyone got sick of it. I think SVU is the only one still on. I don't want the same thing to happen to CSI- I got a little edgy when they made Miami, and now New York, ugh.

I couldn't agree more.

I was a big fan of the original CSI, now I just watch it now and then.  I dunno why but I steer clear of CSI: Miami, probably because it has that guy from NYPD Blue on it.

I'm not a fan of CSI: Miami- just not my thing (although that's a good thing- if it were exactly like CSI the ordeal would be worse than I thought).

There's this one parody of CSI here on radio called 'CSI Parramatta'. It;s the seriousness of CSI given the aussie breakfast radio show twist. Hahaha.

IMO, Alias is the best show on TV, followed by 24. Free-to-air mind you. I don't have cable to numb myself with

You guys are aware that "ruins my life" is an exageration right?  I'm pissed off but it's not this is my whole life.

"I am constantly amazed at the huge amount of intelligent and seemingly intelligent people that watch wrestling."

My dad thinks the same thing.  "Ian you're an honours student and you're very bright so why do you watch this stuff?"  If he catches me watching it he makes sure to stand right in front of the screen and remark on how stupid it is.  I find wrestling is low brow entertainment that can be really entertaining if taken from a high brow perspective.  In other words if you can recognize the little details and can tell a great match from an average one it becomes much more enjoyable.  I find people who aren't fans of it can't get past the idea that it's fake, as if the fans are either stupid for being "conned" or stupid for knowing it's fake and liking it anyways.
