I was just being a jerk because I was treated like one earlier.  I'll be fine as long as people respect everyone on the forum instead of just their buddies.  Meaning don't throw insults and reply to serious posts by mocking others.  (which you didn't do Mouse just to clarify things).

"cubedcanuck was going extensively into something completely unrelated"

That is BS. The 2 previous posts both brought up the X-box's power as did the article. I was simply pointing out, that through my personal experiences, that indeed the x-box performs as the most powerful console.
So I say again mouse, you do not run these forums, so please get over yourself.

Cubedcancuck, let's drop the squabble for a second so I can say this: I'm sorry. I was out of line insulting you in my earlier post, and although I didn't think your comment was relevant, it wasn't my place to say anything about it. I apologize.

I read the whole article. I really didn't see anything Nintendo biased. He seemed to give his honest assesment of what he thinks is going on in the industry. Plus he gave his reasons for why he thought the way he did. I didn't agree with everything he said but he had a lot of valid points. I too believe MS will flounder once the next gen starts. Once they lose their endless budget and they have to be more fiscally responsible like Sony and Nintendo they will be in a world of trouble. MS can't seperate themselves from Nintendo despite the blunders Nintendo has made this generation and despite the fact that they've outspent Sony and Nintendo combined. Good article IMO.

Darc: The thread is about the interviewer, not the interviewee. After Pachter says something positive about Nintendo after being asked, the interviewer seems to poke around to get a negative reply. Of course, that's just an interpretation you can reach if that is what you want to prove in first place.

The Interviewee was shockingly ignorant and the interviewer seemed convinced that the Xbox is destined to take the entire market.

Anti-Nintendo? Sure... but he was just as Anti-Sony. He was perfectly happy to accept the DS as having an edge over the PSP, where he got really hostile was when the interviewee started badmouthing Microsoft's strategy.

That was what i was trying to get at The Analyst being interviewed trully believes Nintendo has a chance the next generation, and i agree with him, but this guy from Gamespot seemed to throw that idea asside basically saying Nintendo just cares about the kiddies, Nintendo beat Microsoft? Imposible!

What about IGN!

The new E3 awards shows Conker's Live and Reloaded as best overall graphics over DOOM3, Resident Evil4, HalfLife2, etc.  I saw CLR and the graphics were not that great it was okay but even timepslitters 3 had about the same graphic prowess.

Also they had PSP over DS by large margin.  PSP had 12 votes and DS 6 and AlienWare got 2 votes for best hardware/pheripherial.  And quoting that most of their editors thought that the PSP is the evoloution of handheld gaming.  Umm how is a evoloution if it is really just the same old same old except with better graphics and larger screen?

And Halo got game of show.  Ok yeah great game and all but the game has no originality at all.  Everything this game has has been ripped off of other games.  The only new additions include Live Support, dual guns, new vehicles, new guns, more maps.  Online play for FSP isnt new, dual guns is certainly not new (goldeneye, perfect dark, etc) vehicles are original though, and guns well perfect dark still wallops halo in this aspect, and maps perfect dark still wins here too.  So how does this sequal deserve best of show?

IGN = Anti Gaming (LOL)

PSP is the natural evolution of handheld gaming.  Every corresponding thing has been grown.  You've got a sleeker design, better components, better/more controls, more capacity.  How is that not an evolution of prior handhelds?  The DS can be seen thus as a more radical evolution or more fitting a revolution.  Will the next Gameboy not be an evolution of handhelds too? as it's slated to only have 1 screen.

The point is that IGN thinks the PSP is a "greater evolution" than the DS, which is ridiculous...

Well doesn't a evolution require something new like a third eye, so i don't think a larger nose or pointed ears counts as evoloution.

Each one has evolved more than the other in different ways.  It depends on whether you see evolution as evolving what was already in place or evolving into a completely different form.  Like evolving your species into a more survivable one or evolving from one species into another separate one (which is also more survivable) but still having characteristics of the former.

I think part of the reason why some people might favor the PSP despite DS excellent showing at E3 is that less was shown, so people still have hyped expectations that it may or may not achieve.  Ofcourse the same can go for the DS because once the ideas really start flowing for the dual screens and touch screen they can surpass any expectations, it's just that consumers expectations are more tangible on the surface for PSP because it's familiar while the DS consumer expectations are less tangible because it's entirely new and innovative.  I guess it will just end upto how well the designers utilize the PSP but more importantly the innovative DS hardware.

Evolution is a change in a beings prior form whether it be miniscule or large, whether it be a rat evolving into a squirrel, a dinosaur evolving into a smaller reptile, or a human being shedding body hair over the species lifetime on earth.

Interesting enough, Gamespy gave the DS the second place in it's top 20 games list, between Half-Life 2 (first place) and the PSP (third place).

yeah, but this interview was on gamespot, which ranked the psp higher than the ds.  big surprise.
