Mouse wheel problem
« on: May 15, 2004, 10:42:28 AM »
Today Windows out of the blue decided that the new function for my mouse wheel would be to move Forward and Backward through pages on my browsers, and it's getting really annoying. Since I didn't make the change myself, I have no clue how to get it to stop. I've looked through every option for my browsers and my mouse, and have restarted my computer, but nothing is working. I a few other people who have had this problem but they don't remember how they fixed it. Can anyone help?

Are you able to configure each button through Mouse properties in the Control Panel?

Nope- the most I can do as far as button configuration is concerned is switching the primary and secondary buttons. My mouse came along with a program for setting it up, but it's on a floppy disk and my floppy drive doesn't work. I can search on the company's website for it, though.

Yeah, the only way to configure my Logitech mouse is through the program that was included with it...So you better get that floppy drive fixed if you can't find the program online...

I found the driver online and got it installed. I didn't find any feature within the program itself to turn off using the wheel as a substitute for the Back and Forward buttons, but luckily just installing the driver was enough to fix the problem. Thanks.
