I'd rather have a Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but any Koei support that doesn't involve "Mystic Heroes" is welcome.

That's pretty cool to see support by a company that did squat beforehand...

Interesting.  I though Koei really no interest in developing for Nintendo systems.

The DS must be really something.

Besides that, when's the last time Koei did anything on a handheld?

Wish they'd give us a port of RTK3 on the GBA. I'm tired of hauling my Sega Nomad out to play it on the go.

well its offical the ds version will be toon graphics, compared to the psp version which is realistic
I personally think this is great
Handhealds need a 2D fighter, were a 3d fighter might be a bit iffy, esp if you have to slide the d pad around then press a shoulder button and square.
great news
Just hope that we get a KOF in the long run also

Did anyone else get frustrated by the quote saying the game would be more cartoony on the ds??  .....

The screen shot shown on The Magic Box doesn't look bad at all. Even "cartoony", the characters look pretty damn good.

DS is TEH KIDDIE.  KIDDIES'S like toons.

Yeah that bugs me particularly when Nintendo plans to aim the DS at an older market than the GBA.  Is a kiddified game better than nothing?  Maybe.  I don't know.  All I know is I have never had any interest in anything Koei has ever done and will continue to.

Sega did say that Skies of Arcadia for the Cube would be altered for TEH KIDDIE audience but it turned out great.  But then they said the same thing about Virtua Fighter Quest and it's like Yu-Gi-Oh with Virtua Fighters in it.

What should Nintendo do, reject it because it's "too kiddy"? This is completely Koei's decision and AFAIK the Dynasty Warriors franchise is primarily aimed at the japanese market, anyway and they don't seem to equate cartoon and kiddy.

I think its a good idea.  I think nintendo should "ask" developers to keep kiddy stuff away.  Let nitnendo make the kiddy games and have everyone else fill in with games no one can dis because of teh kiddy.

Ian: Nobody, atleast explicitely. But the responses here almost sound like it's Nintendo's fault DW is "cartoony".

No, it's just annoying.

kiddy means nothing in 2D fighters
bring up the kiddy vs adult....its pretty silly
Even games like puzzle fighter which are kiddy to the max, sell HUGE ammounts

My comment was more against general gaming media and the way they worded it, which promotes the feelings that Nintendo systems are only for kids soley because of the style of the graphics... If i were to want this game, I would probably be happy with the more traditional spritish visuals.
