Atari just announced a sequel to Godzilla DAMM... the GCN version outsold the X-box version by a whole lot, but now the sequel wont show up because of Atari dumping the Cube I liked DAAM since i like Godzilla

Wait, then is that the reason they do such a horrible job of publishing Cube games in Aussie Land?

Atari dropped Cube support awhile ago and despite the Gamecube version selling better they wouldn't release one because they already announced that they are dropping all Gamecube support. I remember I didn't care when Atari stopped supporting Gamecube but even bad publishers will make a good game once in a few years.

Yeah, I posted about this awhile back:

http://www.planetgamecube.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=3&threadid=8419

After looking into it further, their reasoning appears to be a rather "sloppy", IMO, justification in that the GCN is 3rd in the US. Pretty much ignoring the intended market, and what type of games sell best where... not to mention that the GCN version STILL outsells the superior Xbox one in weekly sales... Like I stated before, I just don't think Atari has a whole lot of business sense.

However, they have their DBZ games to fall back on, at least for now, although it should also be noted that Atari has gone on the record to say that they are a “huge supporter” of the PSP too…

Umm... no, that's wrong, sorry. The new Terminator game and (most likely) the new Enter the Matrix game are both coming out for the GCN. So they haven't dropped support.

It does irk me a little when companies don't publish a game that had a sequal selling better on GCN for no apparent reason.  Suppose that is business.  And yes, average developers do sometimes put out a nice gem.  Things have been looking crappy in the news lately for our favorite little Cube shaped fun box.  Oh well, I still love my 20 whatever games and still want more.

Atari dumping the GameCube? God, I hope this doesn't mean they'll stop distributing games here altogether. It's bad enough when they release 100 copies of Metal Gear and PSO Australia-wide.. A total lack of anything would make me turn into the Hulk.

.. Then get ice cream.

I rather liked Godzilla: DAMM. You could throw trains at eachother, that gets a thumbs up.

GOD: DAMM!!!

The way I see it, that's the only reason the game was created- so it could have the best acronym ever.

Anyway, this is old news- we've known about it for a while. I'm sure if you looked you could find the old thread. Still sucks, though.

Atari just sucks in general.  All they promote is The Matrix and V8 Supercars.

This just proves that everyone is out to get Nintendo!!!

Paranoia aside, what the hell are we as Cube owners supposed to do? I mean we figure that if we buy more third party games then they will will realese more games for the GCN, but this proves that wrong. I honestly think that maybe third paries want the Cube to die.

Remeber it isn't paranoia if they ARE out to get you.

Ok, not sure how many care, but it appears from various sources that some of the staff behind this game surf the boards over at GameFaqs, and that if enough "stink" about the lack of Gamecube version is addressed that they MIGHT consider porting it. Sounds like a long shot, but for those interested please sounds off in the GameFaqs board for the first game here:

For those that do care, thanks for your time.

That mighjt explain the average quality of Atari's games, if they read GameFAQs all day of course it's going to damage their brains.

The GC version did come out months prior to the xbox version though.

Also, Atari is kinda stressing online play and which to consoles do you think has more online players ;0.

Godzilla's more of a Mario Kart type multiplayer game, though. You know, where it's more fun to have a bunch of dudes crowded around a TV breaking wind and spilling beer all over the carpet. WaveBird's make good throwing devices, too.
