They did their remodeling of the N-Gage to adress certain features that were often complained about, like side talking.

Its not that bad... Looks a little sleeker, ,and doesn't have as many [useless] bells and whistles. Is it possible to get one without breaking the bank?

All it needs is some GREAT games to go with it.

Why didn't they design it like that in the first place?  Stupid engineers....

The only thing that Nokia did right was that they actually got smarter.

I actually hate the new version far worse than the original.  The first layout I actually didn't think was THAT bad (except the buttons, which appparently got worse), but this thing is grotesque.........

Well, they made a few good decisions this time around, butt nobody really cares.

Thought the question should be: how soon after the release of this N-Gage before Nokia comes out with another newer, 'better' N-Gage? They churn out new phones like nobody's business and I seem to detect the same trend (yeah, a trend with 2 phones ) with the N-Gage.

You know a console isn't doing well when they have to redesign it just a few months after it's launch.

Nokia actually stated they plan on shorter hardware cycles since they come from the phone industry. As long as they maintain binary compatibility this isn't a problem. Why they don't just make all of their phones NGage compatible is beyond me, though. They have the hardware and everything and should try to profit from software licensing, unless they were too stupid to ask for money for that. Or the problem is that game developers can easily develop multiplatform phone games which would have a much larger audience than the NGage market and usually have the same or better hardware.
