I think some publisher decided that if they released it on GC it wouldn't sell. If you want it nonetheless, beat sense into some suits.

And video tape it and put it on the web while you are at it.

Dark Alliance is good including Dark Alliance 2.  But really if you like the D&D RPG then play them on the PC.  They have more and better.

Interplay is essentially bankrupt right now... the only way they've been able to make their payroll is selling off the rights to title after title.

They've got no announced titles coming soon for any platform on their site, and while BIS was supposedly working on the next big thing in PC RPGs, I'd frankly be surprised if we ever actually see it.

In fact, I'd be quite surprised if we see another title from them at all. Titus basically ran them into the ground.

BGA 1 didn't sell on GC so the GC will not see the sequal.  One wonders if releasing the first 6 months late , and having it be a horrible port had anything to do with the lackluster sales.......nah, can't be.....

I bought Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance after all the bad press it got.  I bought it from the discount rack.  I paid $9.99 for it.   I read review after review of how bad the port was.  After playing through the game in single player mode, I have no idea what the reviewers were talking about.   The true flaw of the game was that it just wasn't all that good of a game, not that was a bad port.   The levels were really long and drawn out with little variance in what you did.   It was like a fancy version of Gauntlet, only I enjoyed Gauntlet more( the arcade game mind you).  There was little in the way of puzzles or strategy needed.

Maybe all the slowdown that the reviewers spoke about happened in two player mode, since they'd have to ramp up the difficulty by putting more enemies on the screen, because I didn't see it in the single player version.

The biggest problem is that the game was a port.  A first run game that costs $49.99 should cost about $30.00 when it comes out later than the other version and adds nothing new if not a downgrade from the original.

BS.

I too purchased BDA.  I also thought it was an overrated game.  But i also saw it running on PS2, and played flawlessly.  Animation was better, steadier frame rate, although i do agree the frame rate woes were blown way out of proportion.  The biggest problem is it being released 6 months late.  Why would anyopne wait that long, when its available for the other 2 consoles, and PC?  Why would anyone wait for the slightly inferior version on top of that?  Sadly, there will be no sequal on GC , because the inferior, late version didn't sell.  Damn cubers....

The origional Baldur's Gate series owns Dark Alliance. But they are hard. Very hard. Even HARDCORE hard. I felt embarrassed having to go to the easiest difficulty setting.
