Play ICO- that games seemlessly combines the use of short cutscenes and realtime events. It's magnficent.

I really enjoyed POP, though. Even though the story was spoonfed to you as you went, it was very minimal, and it was more about gameplay than anything else.
The gameplay was spoonfed to you as well, which is why I hate it.

I've always wanted to play ICO, just never got the chance.

I think developers have forgotten that we the player are the most important part of the story.  The story needs to either be about us or we need to be the ones advancing it.  When that doesn't happen we get bored and leave.

personaly i believe games are just there for fun. story can be fun. gameplay, deffinitely. coop play and multiplayer a big yes. flashy graphics, not always. complicated game mechanics, frustrating. clunky response times and repetetive ideas, heck no.

who's going to play doom 3 for the graphics? well...who the hell is going to play doom 3?

You really should- the cut scenes are such that they'll take over for a second to show you something, but then give you back control before it's finished. In some scenes it's quite breathtaking.

Well with PoP you could easily turn off the tutorials and skip the visions.  I will admit that I couldn't stand the whole vision thing.

I started skipping the visions by the third one.

And it was still way too easy to figure out what to do next. There's always only one way to go forward, and once you find it there's always a fight and then a save point.

I guess my problem was that there was no thinking involved at all. And I could have forgiven this if the game was fun, but it wasn't. It was just following an obvious path and the fights were a pain.

But to get back on topic, one of the undisclosed titles is probably Buzz for the DS. I'm just hoping at least one title is for the GC.
