Hey man, what's your inbox look like these days?  I bet you didn't think that posting on our boards would get you this much recognition eh?  Our site's even slowed down because of all the people wanting a look at your sword.

sure, bloodworth--blame the sword.  was the sword responsible for all the crap we put up with last year, too?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Heh, thankfully, I've kept my email address hidden on this forum. I've only received emails from the editor who asked to write up the story, and a few friends who have seen the story linked to elsewhere and popping up on other message forums. My name is known to Zelda fans in the Netherlands, Great Britain, France, Germany, and elsewhere. It's pretty cool...so long as none of them find out where I live.

No, that was DoS attacks and hackers.  It sucked too.  I'm still not done cleaning up from the incident in December.

Fight back against those DOS attacks! It may not be entirely legal, but revenge transcends the law.

No, that was DoS attacks and hackers.

Hackers are people who know really well the workings of a specific medium or problem, and they develop a sort of natural intuition for it. Kids who carry out DOS attacks are called 'crackers'. Getting the two mixed up is a big no-no.

Well, either way, I'm talking about separate incidents, and I'm not about to go into any more detail.  I certainly don't want to junk up this thread any more.

What happened to the thread in the Talkback forum? Hope it wasn't anything I said.

lately, the news bot has a nasty habit of eating threads in the talkback forum.  unfortunately, you can consider anything said in that thread gone forever.  fear the news bot!!

Heh. I thought maybe it was because this other guy came on and was showing off his sword, claiming to be so much more of a hardcore Zelda fan than me because he got it a few months earlier than me. The thing looked like it was rather cheaply made, complete with plastic round jewels for the eye. I told him rather curtly that mine could chop through his like warm butter. Like on the GAMECUBE Soul Calibur II commercial, remember? Slice!

The article got Slashdotted, too, and the huge increase in traffic was making the site run really slow- although I doubt it, PGC might have taken the story down to prevent the site from crashing.

I couldn't find either- I had to send manunited to this thread instead.

Also, the sword is based on the Master Sword from LttP, no? If so, then it is indeed a faithful replica- I don't think a guy willing to dish out $3,000 for a sword would arbitrarily decide on the wrong color for the hilt.

Yeah, it's based on the ALttP sword. Who wants a sword with a purple hilt?

While I do love the LttP design, I like the WW design the best, especially when it's fully upgraded.

I like the Ocarina of Time version better than the Wind Waker version, myself. The Ocarina of Time version just wasn't practical, though. Smelting the steel to obtain the blue coloration would have cost me $2000 more than I paid for the Link to the Past version. After I become a successful video game designer I'll be able to afford it, but not on the salary of a video arcade manager.

The story's still up, the Talkback thread was just eaten -- which just sucks through and through.  I hope that other guy doesn't think we did it on purpose.  I edited in a link to this thread too.

I deal with baddies for an amusing living and I've been told "never bring a knife to a gun fight." Heh heh, they never mentioned a sword.....does that mean it's ok?   I can see the headlines now, Girl with Sword Eliminates All Litterbugs.

And pray those that do know are kind souls, and worthy secret keepers!  I consider myself one or the other or sometimes both but rarely neither - unless there is either a lot of cash or a grand jury involved - but don't worry I will never tell anyone about the secret hideout in the da-- corn.  Oops.

Mr. Limely everywhere I go these days I have to hear about you and the Master Sword.  sending you a PM about it the other day but eek-screetch-jolt the computer decided it was time to bust out in some crazy hula madness.  Or not.  So I apologize to everyone for subjecting you to this nonsense, for Lo!  I'm just trying to get in touch with a very old friend.  (Everyone suppress the urge to say "what the bleep is this bleepin' bleep doing, bleep" and substitute with "AW")
Have you frolicked today?

Da-- corn, you say? Frolicking, you say? Lo?! You do know me from high school, don't you? Mysterious and mysteriouser. The choice of phrases does narrow it down a bit, and the amount of hatred I've chalked up with a few of the people on that list narrows it even further. Interesting. I'll check out that PM right away.

"Never bring a knife to a gun fight," though? Someone needs to watch Cowboy Bebop. If Vicious can do it, so can I. He did have a sword, though, of course.

Hi all, I'm really sorry if this has been asked already, but I was wondering if you could possibly tell me a little about the dimensions of the sword Limely?
Thanks in advance

The blade is 28" long, 2 3/4" wide, and 1/4" thick at the thickest part. This doesn't include the crosspiece, hilt, and pommel.
