I've just brought the latest Hyper, and they had an preview of Manhunt, the new game by Rockstar and the GTA3 killer. Just to fill in a bit about the game, you are a criminal brought off death row and now you have a bounty on your head. It's an adult version of Hide and Seek, with guns and baseball bats and iron pipes and so on.

Anyway, that's not my concern. My concern is the rating. This should be the first game to be rated R-18+. Hyper paints some gruesome details about the exection-style moves you can pull off, and it shudders me to think what some kid may do under the influence of this game.

Either this game makes it out here under a new rating, or it doesn't make it all. I fear Sony will use their might and get away with it under a MA-15+, and it would sicken me to see my little brother get his hands on this game.

I'm actually very interested in this one. They're calling it a stealth/action game, borrowing elements from Splinter Cell and other games, but it definitely sounds unique. I might actually buy a PS2 for this game. *explodes*

I decided to get my preorder for Viewtiful Joe just 2 days ago on a whim when I was reminded of the bobbleheads. I saw them, and couldn't help it.  Here's some pics of it:

It's got nothing to do with what format. If I can't tolerate it on the PS2 then why is it gonna be so different on PC?

to those suggestions, Mario

Yeah, I played Sly.  Great game.  That's one game that I'd like to see on the GC that isn't.

SCORE:

GC: 15,000
PS2: 5?
Xbox: 3 or 2 or none or something...

Well, I finally got F-Zero!

This game is FAST and HARD and AWESOME.  F-Zero=goodness.

I also played Veiwtiful Joe for the first time.  Wasn't THAT impressed, but it was still awesome. Slowing down time is the most fun thing EVAR!  And when you speed up, you're like "WAMBAMBOOMPOWCLASHCRACKPHWAM!" all in a row, and your eyed are like, "?"

But, to put it simply, I didn't like the way Joe ran, and it annoyed me to the brink of insanity.  RUN BETTER, STUPID!

I think I'll get Viewtiful Joe used on on sale or as a player's choice, or all three.

*Raises hand*
- SOS: Final Escape
One of most original games ever! You're trapped in a big city that's constantly getting struck by earthquakes! Stuff falls over, stuff explodes! Fun! It actually develops into some kinda Metal Gear type story later on, too. Plus it's a budget title!

- Kingdom Hearts
You get to slide down a vine with Tarzan! +100 useless points!
But it's kinda fun, story is nothing to get excited over, but the sheer novelty of walking around all the different Disney cartoons is cool. Now on Platinum, too.

- Activision Anthology
Dunno if you were into Atari 2600 games, but this is a great place to start! Just under 50 games, original TV adverts, an old 80's documentary video on how gaming is getting more and more popular (it's funny, because the big video game crash happened the next year), AND IT HAS PITFALL! =o
Oh yeah, also a budget title. $30 in EB, $50 everywhere else. EB WINS?!

- Silent Hill 2/3
BETTER THAN RESIDENT EVIL. *Hides*
No, really.. If you really want to be disturbed, these games will do it to you. Where else could you go see monsters having sex, or go into a hotel and have the walls go all trippy, and have the place fill up with blood? Outstanding graphics in both games.

- Project Zero (Also known as Fatal Frame)
Another very disturbing game. To the max!
Young teenage girl walking around old haunted Japanese mansion type thing with a camera as your only 'weapon'. Ghosts pop out of everywhere, scream stuff at you, and you've gotta line up the perfect shots as they get closer and closer and closer. You can't run away from them, either. ;____;
*Almost had a heart attack playing this game*

Um.... I think that's enough of my PS2 love in this thread.

i seriously want to pre-order VJ cause being what it is, it might be in limited stock in all of Australia like Burnout 2, Skies, etc. But i never played it, and none of the stores i go to have the VJ demo disc out, so i have nothing to go on except the aussie gang's enthusiasm and a video i downloaded earlier this year.

ARRRRGH!

I've narrowed the list of games i want down to 4:
- F Zero
- Mario KArt
- MGS: TT
and maybe VJ.

VJ sounds like a must get cause of the possibility that it is limited stock, but the others i will have money for, in time....

Nah, VJ is Capcom. It'll get a decent release here, it's not being published by Game Nation.
Although Capcom recently discontinued RE0 here, it's still pretty easy to get.

Yeah Capcom games are everywhere, there should be heaps of room on the shelf for VJ.

Ive narrowed down my list of GC games to

- Animal Crossing
- F-Zero GX
- Viewtiful Joe
- Mario Kart: Double Dash

...seriously. Well for this year anyway. MGS, Final Fantasy, Four Swords, Pikmin 2 and Mario Golf will do for next year.

Sly Cooper: played the demo, hated it. Controls are horrible.
SOS: I remember Infernal getting waaaaay too excited about this one.
Activision Anthology: YES! OLD-SKOOL STYLE! Werd! I would definitely get this one.
Silent Hill: Hmmm. Maybe after I get around to playing Eternal Darkness...
Ico: Hooray for wacky gamezzzzzzzzz! *shrugs*
Disgea: Is this a game? Sounds like a horrible disease, one where your skin turns inside out and you babble about how "Billy will save us from the hax0rz!"

Ok. I made the last one up.

But the fact a PS2 still costs $299, and the fact I forked out $250 for my full license today = NOT YET STUPID!!!

EDIT: Termin8's list matches with what I want. Possibly AC, but at the moment I have no life to give to this game
And I still miss Skies!!! AiAi! Where's your copy now???

Disgaea is a cool game, its like Final Fantasy Tactics on acid or what not.  very fun.  You can pick up allies, enemies and stuff and throw them.  You can throw enemies together to create stronger enemies.  And literally, you have to pay Hell for everything.  If you like tactic style RPG's then give it a shot.  Though from what I hear, Atlus games don't get huge releases so they usually disappear after a while, so get it while the getting is good.

Silent Hill 3 is better than 2 in my opinion, but get both for the sake of playing the series, even though 2 and 3 have no real connections between them.  If you haven't played Silent Hill 1, then you won't appreciate Silent Hill 3 to it full potential though.

Enjoy it too, I don't plan on getting it anytime soon since I have like 10 games all coming out around the same time, I'll just be too busy to worry about about MK: DD.  I should be getting VJ delivered to me as early as today.
