I'm not surprised, and not happy at the same time.

NOT SURPRISED + NOT HAPPY = HULK SMASH * INFINITY!

That'll learn me for not pre-ordering Burnout 2 and SoA:L. Bah.
And Wario Ware is awesomely awesome! Addiction get!

Not only that, but Phantasy Star Online is also discontinued =/

Man. These titles are going to be worth a pretty penny on the Aussie Ebay.

Man, I'm glad I got Skies quickly.  In fact, I got the last copy at my EB (and they told me they were hoping to get more in stock).  Still haven't got into playing it yet.

Anyway, that sucks.  Really.  I now fear the 2 exclusive Namco RPGs, Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos (which is by Monolith) may not make it to Australia.

The reason I like reading your posts PIAC, is because you are so damn goofy. (A nice thing.)

It's things like this that there should be no territory locks on consoles, let them be import friendly like GBA titles.  I did read that Veiwtiful Joe is import friendly for whatever good that does any of you.

[EDIT]  The game has full english speech according to the game description at videogamedepot.com.

yeah im pretty tempted to get Veiwtiful Joe, im just worried about the RPG's that are slated for cube, they have me very excited (your excited? feel these nipples! (baseketball owns)) but they might not make it here, or if they do ill have to get them on pre order and get them strait away, or face importing :\

atleast Fzero/Mario Kart should come here in decent numbers, and make a respectable sales amount... should.. :\ either way importing looks to be rather favourable right now, especially with the prices the way they are, it shouldn't cost too much more......... oh crap, my tv here is only crappy and old :\ wont be able to do NTSC :\.... CURSE YOU SNACKS! CUUUUUUUUUURSE YOOOOOOOU!

MY TV CAN DO NTSC. IT IS SEXY!
And it's amusing, because the brand of the TV is Palsonic.

How much of a difference is there between the European and Australian terrotories.  Both are PAL right, well I read today that Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles is getting a Christmas 2003 release in Europe (don't know about Australia though).

Yup, all our games come from Europe. So we get stuck with all the dodgy French, German and whatnot language options. We have very few decent publishers in Australia though, the biggest at the moment is Game Nation, and they do a horrid job. We'll usually get the game about 2-3 after it launches in Europe.

Although Game Nation has come to the splendid conclusion that since GC isn't that popular here, they'll just treat us like utter rubbish.

That kind of sucks you know.  I guess you'll just have to resort to importing.  How is the importing scene there.  I've only imported two things so far, Shining Sould for GBA (European version) and the Hori controller that looks like the SNES controller so I can potentially have a better digital pad than my wave bird has.

My copy of Super Monkey Ball 2 and XG3 were from Europe.
You just look at the back, down the bottom, and if it don't say "Assembled in Australia", well then it's from Europe. I think Nightfire is too.

YAY!
I know it would be cool, but then it's so late in the GC life already.
We've only really got a year and a half until GC2 comes out, and something like Pilotwings and MArio 128 will come out NEXt year, and does that look like NIntendo will be able to make a new Mario game for launch? no.

The games I think should be launched with GC2 are:
Pilotwings
Too Human
er....yeah, that's all i can think of now/

We already have these games coming on GC
Mario 128
Wind Waker 2
Metroid Prime 2
1080 Avalanche
Pokemon Colloseum
That Pikachu game
Mario Kart
F-Zero GX
MGS
FF: CC

and that's just the exclusives!

well ignorant comments like its nintendo's fault that rental stores decided to snub nintendo really pisses me off...
I was talking about how as soon as playstation 2 came out  Nintendo fans became discriminated against. He told me it was Nintendo's fault for not releasing games for a year. Well the casual gamer who rents Unlimited Saga(omg that game sucks) has no opinion on games whatsoever.

australia is basically forceing me to buy all my games on pre order, which is really crap, i dont necisisarilly want todo that for all the games i want, but the fact skies sold out everywhere about 3 days after it was released, and then no more shipments is proof i will have todo this. it sold out so fast, yet they wont do another shipment? i dont care what they say, that is increadibly STUPID

I think its more sad that NoAus has admitted to screwing up this time around, and has done nothing else! Sure, they plug the first party games well, and they sell pretty well down here.
But they should do more to support third party games in PAL territories, because there just isn't enough publishing done. Sure, the market for Gamecube is small here, but with a bit of advertising and word of mouth, they'd get more sales. Guaranteed.
Example: Resident Evil 2 & 3. Apart from a couple of print ads, I haven't heard boo from these games. Classics re-released. Shame they're expensive ports, but why not plug them? Too afraid to shake the kiddy image?

But in terms of achieving a profit, they have to spend money to make money.

EDIT: And Termin8, here's what they should be releasing GC2 with:

Mario 128 (if it's as revolutionary as Mario 64 was, this'll be a smash)
Metroid Prime 2 (make it so polished you can see yourself instead of Samus in the visor!)
Too Human (the eternally delayed game)
Pokemon RPG (don't tell me someone isn't making it)
Zelda Game (not WW sequel, something more like Spaceworld demo - WW wasn't evil enough. Jellies? Aurgh!)

haha, those black ChuChu's are totally evil.  I was always afraid they would soften up again while I was carrying them.  Evil I tell you, it was neat how they served a higher purpose than the green red or blue (well other than used to get potions, but you could use 5 seeds you got from the evil deku plants what not to get blue potion.)
