I LOVE IT!

Hopefully I'll get out of my lazy state by tonight and try and provide a background and logo on the site

Annnnnnyway,
Donkey Kong CountryIt's been messed around with too much. Graphics have been badly downgraded for the GBA, lots of animation is cut, backgrounds have been totally redone, to look brighter for the screen... Some levels that featured day to night transistions, like the first, no longer do this. Which is pretty crap. Music is very tinny sounding, but the score is still outstanding. Man Rare had awesome talent with cartridge music.
But for some demented reason, Funky's barrel airport music has been cut out, in favor of a terrible elevator style music track. Also, Cranky Kong has lost ALL his personality. He no longer disses Donkey and Diddy, and he doesn't get all violent on your ass when you visit him (he used to hit them around with his walking stick)
He provides lots of tips though. Which is good, I spose.
That's the downsides.
Upside is that the game itself still holds up VERY well. Levels are still as fun and challenging as ever. Graphics are still good to look at despite lack of animation. There's also two new mini games in this port. A fishing game, which is mighty fun to be honest and a strange DDR style dancing game. The music for this section is mystery. It hardly gets you excited about clapping along to the beats... Plus I couldn't figure out how to do anything at all

I pressed left when it said too.... BUP-BOW. Most likely a glitch in the ROM or something.
Oh yeah, there's a lot more text in this game to read. They've tried to add to the rather bland story, which can only be a good thing. Seventeen thousand thumbs up out of three.
I dunno, if you haven't played the original, you'll enjoy it heaps. If you have, you'll be a bit pissed. This port could of been much better, if only they didn't f**k around with it.
More reviews coming soon. After umm.. I dunno, had lunch or something
