The PC needs a good WW2 submarine game...
« on: February 10, 2004, 08:18:06 AM »
I was watching Das Boot last night, and thought that a good sub game would be a great idea. But we've only had the rather cruddy Silent Hunter 2 recently. What we need is a GOOD sub game. One idea would be to have a game type/realism setting. With the more arcady options, you get more armed enemies, less manegement to take care of, and less technical stuff. The simulation settings would be... uhh... realistic. I can't wait to try attacking a destroyer in stormy weather, take out merchant ships, and try getting through the straits of gibralter...

I used to play Silent Service all the time on my Commodore and NES. That game could sure use a good update. Hell, it's STILL fun to play.

Yeah, lollers, my dad was too. Did you know you could use the player 2 controller on the NES version for more functions? I'm not sure if I ever figured them out...

Silent Service was cool, but the action was slightly too slow-paced for a young gamer...If I could find my copy, I'd play it again... ;___;
