The rights were bought but the license expired, so unless somebody else decides to make a Metroid movie, it's not happening.

Very...I mean, they wouldn't make a movie where there was only one actress...They would add more characters, and we should all know what's wrong with that...

Yeah, a Metorid movie would suck.  And it would anger fans.  And it would........suck.  It's better off staying nonexistant.

But I'm still curoius to see how it would've turned out.  I wish that they could make the movie and then only give it to me so i could watch it but the public  couldn't.  Bah.

I wouldn't be surprised if MS gave the green light for someone to make a Hayloe movie, to give it more exposure.

No way...If those would appear in a watchable film, it would definitely be anime(like Tales of Phantasia!) and not live-action...There'd be hell to pay if they were live-action...

I would be interested to see a Metroid movie using the graphics engine from the GCN or better, and directed by Dennis Dyack and SK, those guys have cinematic style.  But then again I'm dying from the drought of SK games.
While we're on the subject, what do you guys think of FFVII:2, the upcoming Square movie?  I say it looks pretty sweet and hopefully Square will get the movie formula right this time.

Advent Children? Ugh, it looks horrible- you can't take a game with an -obvious- anime style and just make it realistic! It doesn't work that way! Now Cloud looks really stupid with his spiked mustard yellow hair and gigantic knife, and Sephiroth just looks girly (even more so). Whereas with an anime style none of that would look strange, with a realistic style it all looks very out of place. Square has been quite money hungry lately- I hope they curb that soon.

Though I started off hating Advent Children, it's really grown on me lately...After seeing the new trailer, I see that there's going to be a layer of style that could very well save the movie...Can't wait...

Personally, I think I would like to see a Metriod Movie. You figure, Many people have tried to make movies before and they never came out, due to the fact that they were creating the whole movie wrong and the creater of the game/book did not like that, so they canceled it. I'm sure if Nintendo had some word, they would make sure it was done right. Mario the movie, it was good at the time but I think it was missing a lot of key elements and could have been a lot better. The movies I think would be excellent are a Mechwarrior, a CG movie of Zelda, and another great cartoon series of Mario. (Just updated to the times with all the characters, which ultimitley I guess they could incorporate Super Smash Brothers) I also think a movie on the up coming game for GC, Geist I think it was called, where you are a ghost and the enviroment around you is very interactive. There are a lot of good ideas out there, but they way money hungry companies get to the licences first, they come out very dull and off course in a way. Final Fantasy was a great looking movie, but a lot of gamers were very disappointed in it, mostly becuase of its story having nothing to do with the game itself. Off gaming subject, a lot of people were looking foward to "Freddy vs Jason" and I heard that pretty much flopped. I am however interested to see how "Aliens VS Predator : The Movie" will be. It will be great I think, but I also can see how they can really mess it up. All in all, I think games becoming movies is a great way to make it a "Classic" of its time, but it has to be done right. It has to be for and about the game, the love of it, not for the money and commercial side of things. (Resident Evil was also a good example of this.. could movie, could have been a lot better) Oh yeah.. I also think, if you guys remember this oldie for the PC, X-Com would be a great movie. (Which reminds me, what ever happened to the first person shooter version of this game?)

I think Metroid would make an especially bad movie. I mean look at the games: one non-speaking human and a bunch of crawling things. Sounds like a horrible premise for a movie to me.

Damn Perm, I'm sorry!  "House of the Dead"... wow, did you watch the whole thing?  I was mad at a friend, so I made him watch "House of the Dead" and he said next time I should just kick him in the groin.

Anyway, the ONLY way a Metroid movie could be watchable is if it was done like "Aliens", and I don't think they'd go that way.  Now I'm not saying the movie would be good, but they have to do something like that to keep the tension and atmosphere present in the Metroid games... but I honestly hope they NEVER make a Metroid movie.  As a child I wept for a week after watching the "Super Mario Bros." movie.  I felt like my Italian friends betrayed me!

Ghost, have you ever played a House of the Dead game?  The movie is nothing like the games...

Why do movie companies feel they need to completely trash the original game plot!? ;____;

Yeah, I love the games!  I played through "House of the Dead II" on my Dreamcast at least 20 - 30 times.  It's still the main reason I still have my Dreamcast hooked up; I'd love to eventually have the arcade game/cabinet!

And movie companies simply make a movie to appeal to the masses and make money; they don't really have any intention on making a good movie, just turning a profit.  They don't want to appeal to fans of the game, they want to appeal to everyone else because they know the established fanbase is going t go see the movie anyway.

If you like House of the Dead (the game), you'll love Typing of the Dead- seriously, it is one of the funnest games I've played in a very long time. It's definitely worth the cost of the Dreamcast keyboard alone, if you don't already have one.

Mouse, you're not the first one to suggest that one to me, and I've been looking at the local FuncoLand, but I'll probably have to catch it off of the net.  We have some second-hand game shops around here that have a few Dreamcast games (great games for CHEAP), but I still haven't stumbled across it yet.

I can't understand how some movies become so popular, but I don't understand pop-culture in general.  I don't want to say that the masses are dumb in general, but they sure as hell love some stupid movies.

You know.. now that I think of it. I take back what I said about the Metriod movie. I don't think it would be a good movie at all, blah. Good game, but unless you like a movie with all music and no dailoge, well there you go.
