N64 Legend of Zeldacerina of Time the Fishing was seriously cool ! I want to see fishing in WW2 that will be mean. Anyways i also hope it's not called Wind Waker 2 that would be a huge let down. And i still perfer the 3D version compared to the 2D. so What do you think ?

I think the main reason why fishing was canned in WW was that the water was opaque. However, there was a demo included on the disc that had clear water, so if the next game doesn't center around water so much, then the GC should be able to handle the clear effects. It's been stated that Link will look different, so I guess smaller changes to the engine aren't out of the question. I wouldn't be supprised if the fishing returned.

I had more fun with the fishing minigame in Link's Awakening than I did with the fishing in OoT...

I would personally like to see a fishing rod item that yo can take anywhere. If the game is based around water I think it would still work. All you would have to do is look for seaguls feeding and then cant but when it goes through the water surface you can see that water style used at the end of the game and during your descent to that place...

That would be awsome. When you are adult link in OoT, you can get the guys hat and fish with it. It never stops amusing me. He has a shiny bald head.

I could never do that. :sad; I tried and tried and tried. I spent more time on that than I did breathing that day. That was a LONG day, let me tell you.

Sometimes you just get lucky.

They could make the fishing thing into a pleasurable side-quest. There could be all kinds of fish-based trials. You could find a (minor) item in the gut of a fish, or catch a fish for a starving man, and so on.

It's not that hard really. Just move veeeery slowly each time...

Too bad the fish never bit the line with the hat...it must be smelly.

The trick is not to get obbsessed

Perhaps they could make fishing a bit like the Ninendo Gallery: Optional but fun. You could unlock artwork or stuff like that with different fish.

Which reminds me. Where do you find that special bait in OoT, that lets you go farther down in the water. (I hope you know what I am talking about)

Maybe Link should eat fish he catches raw like in MGS3.  That way, he could get rid of all the annoying fishies and make room for the big fishy since it'll be easier to catch without the smaller fishies biting on your line that isn't intended for them.

I would like to see a fish resteraunt in the main town that will buy really exotic and fresh fish from you. Of course there has to be a comical chef

And what about putting a fisher man as the cooks brother and they really hate each other. and evey day you see the cook grabing what ever his brother caught and the Fisherman steal some food that his brother made (that will be REALLY FUNNY) and that could be a submission

Link can have a fishing business as Vyse has a crew and place for his ship.  You would invest money in lures, line, rod, reel, fish finder, and maybe a boat.

If you want an in-depth fishing game then buy a fishing game. This is just a mini game and not a major part of the gameplay. Its just like the trading quest.

Although I don't want a huge selection of lures and rods, I think the addition of an expansive fishing mode (or any other mode for that matter) would be great for Zelda as long as it doesn't comprimise the game as a whole.  In WW, I spent some 6 hours fighting Orca alone because it was mindless fun.  The first part of the mode could be playing for the customary heart piece followed by trophies or other incentives to play.  Can you smell hidden NES mini-games? Go on sniff...

It could be a lot like the Pictograph box in WW. You used it to collect models (like you could try and get the biggest/rarest/freshest fish for the chef) but also to get rewards.

Nah, they could've easily had fishing in Wind Waker- all they need to do is show the shadow of the fish, like they did with the Map Fish.
