If you like F-Zero, have we got an eBay auction for you!  Nintendo of Europe has gotten a graphic artist by the name of Ron Jonzo to make them up a spiffy GameCube, decked with F-Zero designs all over.  On top of that, the winning bid will be donated by Nintendo to the Starlight Children's Foundation.  You can see what the GameCube is like and how the bidding is going by clicking here.

Please note that this auction is being held on eBay UK, and is only available to those who use British Pounds as their native currency.  The system is also a PAL GameCube, meaning it wouldn't be of much use to those in the States anyhow.

Neh, it doesn't look spectacular, but it's for a great cause, which makes up for it. I'd boast more about donating to a charity than having an F-Zero Gamecube.

Doesn't look like much more than your average paint job...but it's for a good cause.

Um, that's it?  I mean I couldn't do better but that's not like super great or anything.  There could have been so much done to the design.  I mean at least make colour ships and there really shouldn't be any purple casing showing.  At least the starting bid is reasonable.  I was afraid they would start it at like £500.

Well, it would be OK if it was "one of a kind", but CUBE magazine is giving one away exactly the same, in this months issue (No. 28).

I thought it could've at least had wings and blades from F Zero ships sticking out but it's still reasonably slick nevertheless.

Has anyone confirmed this with Nintendo?

Seems like a scam to me, the paint job is too weak to have been done by a professional.

I would classifiy it as worst air brushing ever to be honest.

I tend to agree Roundeye - looks a little dull doesn't it - and how about the paint spray on the side of the grey controller/memcard input - a little shoddy for a "professional" job.   I've seen better mods just done by non graphic artists, just for fun.

....straight up Stencil and Spray Paint....pathetic.  I mean, if [insert cmpany here] can custom paint your Gamecube iany one of an assortment of cherry colors, these guys could have at least used some slick, glossy, colorful paint or something.....maybe put it on a Black Cube next time?

It's legit. Cake Media Group (www.cakemedia.com) does Nintendo UK promotions like those early Cube Clubs and nowadays they send out Nintendo press releases and do contests for them.

Yes indeed, we heard about it from Cake.  It's definitely legit.  However, I agree with most of you that the system doesn't look all that great.
