Extended Warranty
« on: January 16, 2004, 04:58:54 AM »
To all who care!
I found a site that has an extended warranty for all game consoles. The best part is that if you have at least 90 days left on your current warranty with the company, you can purchase a REPLACEMENT warranty from this site. This is such a great deal I bought one for all my systems. If you go to the site, look under "Electronics" for the warranty. www.scarolainc.com

I know a lot of people do not believe in extended warranty's, but they come in handy when you do need them. Also, the price that this site is charging is to good to pass up. $17 for a 2 year replacement.
GamePlayer has left the building!

Uhmm right....All extended warranties are usually a bad idea.  It probably doesn't even cover everything, and I'm not even gonna begin to bring up the fact that you would be sending your console away to some unknown company.

I used to think that to, but I am a changed man.  I had my Game cube for about a year, and one day it just would not play any games.  I had purchased an extended warranty for it, I paid way to much, a lot more then the site mentioned above.  The warranty came in handy.  I called the warranty company, and explained to them what happened, and they told me to ship it to Nintendo, and it will be replaced.  2 weeks later I had a new unit.
I do agree with you to a point though.  But think of it like car insurance.
I will probably buy one of the TV warranty's once they are put on the site.

When I see the site on reseller ratings I will think about it.  Until then, I am not going to take the risk of you being an employee of that site and looking for an easy scam.

The warranty company told me to ship it to nintendo.  They must have a deal with them or something.  All I know is that they covered it and sent me a new one.
As far as a scam, I did purchase a warranty from that site the other day, and they are not a scam.  The company that they use WaCA is one of the biggest warranty companies in the US.  I found out that Buy.com and Fuji use them.
I understand your thoughts though.  The internet can be scary.

How much you want to bet that your warranty company found out that you are still covered by nintendo's warranty so they had you send your cube to nintendo in order to take credit for it.  I've never heard of a third party extended warranty place having a deal with the first party so that the first party would repair it.  Doesn't make much sense....
