From the Perrin Kaplan interview at IGN, when asked about the 2004 lineup, she replies with "We are in the next week or so going to come out with what our software lineup is."

I am sure they will be showing new games. Hopefully some totally new games, Mario Tennis (finally), and.. other surprises. Other sources also claim Nintendo will show off new games in the very near future. Another interesting thing to note is that Nintendo are having conferences in Japan from 15-19 of January, which is a conveniant time to show off new games.

If they aren't coming out with new games, then all they would show is Pikmin 2, Pokemon Colloseum, 4 Swords... and... not much else. Nintendo are bound to show new games that we haven't seen before.

I wouldn't have started a whole new thread just for this, but there wasn't really a thread i could post this in.

Sounds very nice, though this doesn't mean there won't be anything new. Games like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Tales of Symphonia, Geist, Pikmin, and others will be on display. I'm betting that Nintendo will wait until E3 in order to build up hype. Massive media coverage is always a nice surprise for a company when they release a new product.

Still, we can always pray.

I really do doubt Ninty will show any new titles...At least, not so soon...Hopefully, they will show off a little more on the titles that have been unveiled already, before E3...

Yeah, im guessing the huge games like Wind Waker 2/Mario 128/Metroid Prime 2 would be shown at E3 rather than now, as well as the 'new product', but we need something to drool over while we're waiting. Im expecting Mario Tennis GCN info at the very least, and maybe some info on the US version of Donkey Konga. It will be interesting to see how Geist and Pikmin 2 have been coming along since last E3 too.

I don't look forward to Nintendo announcing games anymore. I mean, I'm stoked about them when they do, but every time they show early screens of games, they just get slammed by Nintendo fanboys and Sony/MS fanboys for doing everything all wrong, and certain sites coughIGNcough just add more fuel to the fire. I remember people just degrading Wind Waker, then Double Dash, and they turned out to be two of my favorite titles this year.

Its probably the initial release date lists.. For Q1/2/3 They seem to do this every year..

I think it's kinda obvious, what with E3 coming up. I for, one, am hoping for a wildly unpredictable set of new games, and not sequels/upgrades. That might be just me, though.

Well, that depends...I want the sequels to Mario, Metroid, and Zelda, yet I want to see a few, new innovative titles from Ninty as well...A new 1st-party RPG wouldn't hurt, either...

No no no NO ...you people have got it all wrong.

They are only going to show off 4 swords and Custom Robo ( along with some other games ) but none new ones.

What Perrin Kapan meant is that they will give realease dates out to already announced games ( Wario Ware and Konga ). Just think, if there was a confrence with titles about to be announced then Nintendo wont go out and spoil the supr....( thinks E3 ...) .....dont worry.

P.S - I hope they do but with e3 only a few months away I dont see why they would show off games.

Yeah, release dates is what I gathered too.

I wouldn't be getting too excited...

All I'm hoping for is Mario Tennis info, but even that doesn't seem likely.

Nintendo goes on the holiday season strategy. They are gonna have us starve for a game all year then dump a bin of budget titles with franchise characters on us and delay the game we want most till the spring again. I want something new, and that means Nintendo doing a game that is not usual to their brand of gaming. I'm not saying follow the competition; I'm saying lead the competition and bredthen your reach in games to ventures you yourself simply have not tried. Nintendo should do something different from Nintendo; perhaps take a step every now and then that is not conservative in both subject matter and exectution.

Well I think that Nintendo should release more original titles as well.

I mean Pikmin was good but lacked Nintendo Magic , and Animal Crossing is only killing the cubes image ( even though its a great game ).

They should ressurect Icarus and make some sort of new and original adventure , along the lines of Fire Emblem mixed with Zelda. They need to pull thier socks up and pay attention to what the crowd wants !!!

that's why 3rd party companies are important. Nintendo can't do everything off their 1st/2nd party titles :0

I dont think the Megaton will ever die, since people are so keen to bring it up all the time. Nintendo should make a subtle Megaton reference in one of their games.

I eagerly await new Nintendo games.. maybe we will see some GBA games too? I really have no idea what to expect from GBA in 2004, but thats for another board.

Paper Mario 2 could be shown, which would be awesome.

Mario: Megaton Hammer, weapon for Link in Soul Calibur II... I'm not sure it was really called like that in the Zelda games...
