Metroid Bonus Disc
« on: December 11, 2003, 11:02:19 AM »
I was browsing on My Nintendo and I came across someone who said he heard from a high source that nintendo would release a metroid disc similar in fashion to the zelda bonus disc. I dont know if he meant a nintendo official, or some high/drugged up guy on the street. Either way this would be cool. Has anyone else heard this? Would it even be likely? Does Nintendo even have an SNES emulator?
Currently playing: Mario 64 DS and Resident Evil 4

*sigh*

There could be, there could not...Though I am surprised we haven't seen a Super Metroid port on the GBA yet...

Hey, this could be the very reason why we haven't seen it on the GBA. They know we are all sick of paying full price for ports, so this is what they give us. Damn, this had better be true. I hope they update number 2's graphics too. But that may be asking too much.

Hell, I'm not...My GBA is a portable SNES, and I'm loving it... ^_^

Please Enix, could you port Terranigma to the GBA?...Enix?....

Hey, I said we were sick of PAYING for them. I like them just as much as you do. I have Super Mario World and Zelda: ALTTP. And regardless of whether or not Metroid Zero Mission is a port or not, I will be buying that. And I badly want Super Mario Bros. 3. See? There's the problem. It gets so EXPENSIVE!

A Metroid disc would be pretty cool though I alread have all of the Metroid games except the first one (which is locked somewhere in my unbeaten copy of Metroid Prime).  Everyone must play Super Metroid and this would be the best way to allow them to.  With Metroid Fusion already available re-releasing it as a GBA port doesn't seem worth it.  People are probably less likely to buy a port if they have something new with better graphics and sound.

It's feasible and would be a pretty cool bonus for people who pre-order Metroid Prime 2.  A SNES emulator shouldn't be a problem.  I mean they invented the SNES hardware so I'm sure they could make a decent emulator.

I much prefer releasing near exact ports of old games on collections than "enhanced" re-releases on the GBA sold at full price.  I think Nintendo should release stuff like this more often so that the best of their library is available to everyone regardless of what console they own.

This would rock, but they should Include Kid icarus on it as well.

It should have:

Metroid
Metroid II:the return of samus (Colorized)
Surper Metroid
Kid Icarus
Kid Icarus II(GB Colorized)

Super metroid was the only one i actually beat...it seemed the nes one was always too hard!...but then again i was 10 years younger too when i last played it..maybe more..kid icarus would be tight...but compared to todays standards...i dont think an angel dude would be too successful. How about Captain N the game master video game haha. now how about an actual, high budget 3d CONTRA game! Gore galore too! that would rock!

Super Metroid would be unplayable on the GBA. It uses all the buttons on the controller. level design would have to be changed to get it to work
