Okay, just checking.

cubedcanuck, you're almost definitely right.  But I don't know if I really want to get involved with stocks, so perhaps I'll never know the truth about inside info.

"I don't know if I really want to get involved with stocks"

you will if you want to retire rich, there is no better, and I repeat, no better long term investment than stocks.

Yeah, except if you fail to predict a crisis (coughdotcombubbleburstingcough).

I wonder if there were really 126 opportunities to make that much money in one year (the story is pretty old). Still, the story is most likely 100% fabricated, maybe somebody just didn't understand what the Onion is?

I don't really intend to live long enough to retire.  I'm hoping to die young, sort of.  Thanks for offering, though

I'm working on the alcohol related stuff right now, and I am hardly rich.    It's never too early to start your journey to becoming an alcoholic.

KDR, I am a pretty fine shooter both in real life and in video games.  I find that after a few beers, I actually play a little better.  The reason is that I am able to hold off the shot for a fraction of a second longer, which gives me more time to line up the shot.  Basically, I am calmer, and have a greater amount of patience after a few beers.  My reaction time and sight isn't affected to a great degree.

Once, I got pretty drunk and found out I could do the ultra-precise timing Iron Man infinite in MVC2 a little bit more effectively. Being relaxed and unhesitant helps, I think.

He would die.  And then time would work its way around the problem by having YOU be your own grandfather, since you're the most genetically similar person in the world.  Have a nice time with your grandmammy, man.

Drinking + gaming eh? I haven't really thought of that as a performance edge. I can't say that I have an itchy trigger finger in games, but I'm up for trying most things.

My speech and thinking go out the window when I get tanked, but my reactions and motor skills are just fine. Dancing? Horrible, sober or otherwise.

I'll have to test it at the next LAN. Guess who's not driving!?!?!

two questions:  where did he get the initial $800 to invest in the stock market?  i doubt he used currency from the year 2256.  also, why not just go back to the 60's (or thereabouts) and invest in ge, coke, etc, then pop into the late 90s and reap all the rewards.  you could be multimillionaire in a matter of hours rather than waste a whole two weeks.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
