Sorry about the lax moderation, folks.  Dan's right ... I'm not only working a full-time schedule, but I'm taking 20 credits at college (full-time is considered to be 12 credits), so I'm just a bit pressed for time.  We'll try to keep better tabs on the place, but appropriate use of the "Report to Moderator" link is the way to go.

Thanks for stopping by Rick.    I know how taxing full time studies can be.

The problem is that reporting blatant spam doesn't really strike me as the way to go, as it's normally a long term deal, where the person in question doesn't break any rules in any particular post, but has a tendency to build up a lot of garbage over time... it's kind of hard to report that sort of thing.  That's why we really need you back Rick.  You never let that stuff build up at all.

Hostile, get yourself a server that supports server side scripting, and let me know what language you want to do it in.

Go there and refresh a few times, watching the quote at the top of the page.  It's done the same way.

Those are some nice quotes, Grey Ninja.  "Girls are like pianos. When they're not upright, they're grand." -Benny Hill.  Oh man, that may have to go in my sig

I'm not interested in a changing avatar, actually, just wondering.  My friend, too (recently signed up here but has not posted), was wondering.  I shall look into it though.  Thanks.

Well the reason alot of threads have been locked is because some Nwe poeple dont understand the rules ( I was one of them when I posted the Emu thread ) .

I got this idea from another forum but what if when someone registers there is some sort of quiz on what you can and cant do .

Anyway , I notice alot of threads locked , good work Bloodworth .

Sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure how easy it'd be to make that, plus it'd be a pain to fill out.  We could certainly be harsher on the newbies that way, though

Yeah well...after the hardwork is done putting in the applications , then the mods can rest easy at night while everyone follows the rules ( Without excuses of not knowing this or that )

I see a lot of people complaining about "newbies" making these boards "bad."  In my opinion it's the users that have been here longer that need more moderation.  Post after post I see older posters bashing newer users and even other older users.  Too many of you think you can get away with saying whatever you want to others and think that you are exlcuded from the rules because you've been here longer than most.  You should be setting the example for the "newbies" rather than acting like you complain the "newbies" do.
Not once have I said something rude or crass to another user and I'd appreciate the same in return.
Quite franlkly, the ingorance expressed by some of the users is making me dislike these forums.
it was time for a change.

You have a point, Marcus, but I'm getting tired of people who don't read the rules and don't read what anyone has posted and suddenly think everyone should pay attention to them. It's really getting annoying- not all of them are like that, but the vast majority are, it seems. If they would take the time to read the rules (or just not be stupid) and check to see if what they're saying has either already been said or has any relevance at all, everything would be fine.

And good luck on finding a better board- this is one of the tamest you'll find, I think.

Honestly, I don't have the patience for the spammers.  If I make 5 messages telling someone to read the rules and to watch a few posters, and they don't listem to me, and I just yell for a second, honestly it's less of a waste of space than the 3000 stupid threads I see popping up in general chat.  I'm surprised I haven't seen the 'who do you think is hot?' thread yet, as it would seem like it is next to come.

It's actually surprising to me that the Gamecube section is the least aggrivating now.

Oh yeah, and could some of the  locked threads be cleaned up?  There are quite a few pilling up.

Thanks for proving my point Bill...... I have a complaint and I am told to stop exaggerating.

Don't take this the wrong way because it's not just directed at you manunited4eva, but it isn't your job to tell others what they did wrong.  The moderators can handle that themselves.

I agree with what you are saying, Marcus.  It's just that when this thread started the mods were not really on top of the spam.  It was out of control for awhile and people were getting really tired of the mess it was creating.  Things are much better now and I for one haven't seen older people flaming newer people for posting incorrectly.

I'm confused, Bill- what exactly was I exaggerating? I don't mean that in a cocky way or anything I honestly can't tell from your post, sorry.
