Broadband Adapter for mario kart, how does it work?
« on: October 24, 2003, 09:35:31 AM »
Mario Kart looks like an online game, I think.
I am on NTL UK Broadband, so how would I get online and would it be free?
And what would I need altogether?

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is a LAN game only.  Nintendo never implemented online features in the game. Basically you can hook up like 8 (i think) GameCube's together and play like that.  Of course tunneling software (software to get LAN games playable over the internet) has already surfaced for the GameCube, well at least one product I know of. As soon as that software is finished (planning on getting it ready for US launch of MKD) then you will be able to play Mario Kart online.

And for the curious it's the Warp Pipe Project, go on and try this at home (if you have the prerequisites), they need your help.

A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice.

No we didn't.  It's 16 PLAYERS, but only 8 GCs max. -- At least 2 people per Cube, each riding the same kart.

Oh...and this belongs in the main Mario Kart thread.
