Pokemon GC & GBA scans...
« on: October 19, 2003, 08:03:53 PM »
After hearing recent news about both the Pokemon Red and Green remakes and Pokemon Colosseum, I can't help but twitch in anticipation.

There are new scans floating around, and they look absolutely fabulous...I lost my internet connection, so I lost the link...I'll try and find them...

Things I noticed:

The RPG mode for PC looks great so far...There seem to be towns and characters that you can interact with, just like any other RPG.  It seems that the RPG mode may be more than just a gimmick, which is very nice.

For the GBA remakes, a female character has been added, though I haven't found a name yet.  The male lead(Ash) also looks really good in the art that has been released.  A buy for me ^_^

After a pretty slow first quarter this year(excluding WW), it seems we are about to be blown away with titles like Twin Snakes, Colosseum, Four Swords, and Pikmin 2...

edit: The female lead for the remakes is my current avatar...

Can I just ask, is the idea of a remake of the very first Pokemon games really something that people are finding exciting?

I've only really dabbled with Pokemon Yellow for an hour or so, hence I am in not terribly informed on all things Pokemon, but I can't see how Leaf Green and Fire Red are anything to get excited about. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all the Pokemon that were in Red, Green, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal were in Ruby and Sapphire right? Why is the prospect of going back and playing the very first games again, which will presumably have less Pokemon than Ruby and Sapphire, appealing to you?

Wouldn't you rather Nintendo make proper sequels to Ruby and Sapphire? I am in no way against remakes, I thoroughly enjoyed the Resident Evil remake and Twin Snakes is one of my more anticipated games at present, but I just can't see the point in this particular one.

Technically R&S contain all Pokemon. Some of them never appear, though.

Well that was my understanding. It is also my understanding that the remakes of Red and Green won't contain all the Pokemon, just those in the original game, which is what a lot of my point is based on.

Is it wrong to love a video game THIS much? Seriously, I still haven't beaten Sapphire yet, but I am just itching to give these games a play. Colusseum could in fact be the official apology for the Stadium games.

The one scan has a pic of that weird celebi/mew pokemon that is in pinball....it seems to be in "steps" for the wireless adaptor?  Could this be a way to get that pokemon without cheating???

Thanks loads for the great Links bill...I too am ready to wet myself waiting for these games.  =P
