Thanks for annoying me.

Haha, I think making kids play E.T. is overkill...though it would be amusing ^_^

I've been saying this all along...The hardcore gamer will eventually fade away as casual gamers with their pretty graphics and physics engines rule with their tiny brains...*sigh*

"It's a hooker"

Don't these kids know anything? Man when I have kids the first thing I am going to do is introduce them to the classics. ET cal home indeed.

But seriously, these "Kids" are going to sink gaming to an all new low level.

In twenty years new kids will laughing at the games those kids thought were cool.
It kind of goes like this, you get older and you always like the stuff you grew up with to some degree, regardless of how big a piece of crap it really is. To top it off, kids will probably tell you its crap, and this will make you say "when I grow up I will introduce my kids to the classics" , and they will laugh like hell as they run off in their rocket cars.

Get the point

Thanks for the link Perm.  The story got slashdotted a while back, but EGM pulled it in like 5 minutes when their servers got nailed.    I never got a chance to read it.  But yeah, we are all a bunch of old fogies sitting around waiting to die at this point.

But still, those kids are little bastards.  You can tell just by reading their comments.  The new generation is composed of a bunch of little barbarians.

I read that in EGM a while back.  Kids come off to me as ignorant.  If it's not PS2 then it's not cool.  If it weren't for Pong and Nintendo there wouldn't be a Playstation.

It's funny when I go on my weekly excursion to Best Buy, and I see a 10 year old lugging an Xbox or PS2 to the register, yet see guys in their 20s looking through the GBA games...

Today I went to see if they had Super Mario 3 in(they wouldn't break the date, the dirty bastards ).  One of the things I do is go into the game section and just look at the people around me.  It may seem weird, but it's interesting to say the least.  There was a guy in his twenties playing Donkey Kong Country on the GBASP, a preteen playing some ATV game for the PS2, another guy in his twenties playing a football game on the Xbox kiosk, a guy in his late teens playing FZero, and a couple younger kids playing Super Mario Sunshine.  When I saw those young kids playing a Nintendo title, I thought of this topic.  I thought, "Maybe it won't be so bad afterall."  Watching the kids unsuccessfully plod through one of the old-school platform levels, I decided to help them a bit by giving tips.  After one of the kids made it through, they thanked me, and ran off to find their parents to get the game for them.  I left BB smiling, with a whole new outlook on the future of gaming.  Though they will be few, there are going to be those that will appreciate games for their gameplay, and not just their realism...

Man, the days lost on Tetris.
And Super MArio Bros! Oh man! I STILL can't pass that damn game! I get up to World 8, and those Hammer Bros are IMPOSSIBLE to pass! There millions of them!

I really don't like the way they said how Space Invaders was nothing like GTA3, or how the graphics in SMB were nothing like SPlinter Cell compared to today. OMG. PlayStation Generation my ass. More like the Little-ignorant-bitches-who-hang-onto-every-single-word-of-the-PR-department-of-Sony-and-Microsoft Generation.

My thoughts exactly.

I think we all can agree we'd like to kick them in the arse, snotty nosed punks...

The fact that these kids are whinging about the graphics is because these games are alien to them.

Quote

Kirk: We're not going to play any mature games, are we?

That sums up my view. This generation expects the violence and gun games. They're 9 to 12 for crying out loud!!!!!

Putting the fact I want to bash the living daylights out of them aside, it is really sad that the games that we all grew up with will be lost in the mist of time. Because these kids are going to become the audience for the future generations of games.

I could bitch on about what to expect, but my crystal ball is broken
All I'll say is, if Nintendo go, I'll be a very sad panda. Forever

I love that processed ham. It was really nice when chilled, and extra nice and oily and fatty when fried.
And I also love the way it made a sucking, slurping sound when it slides out of the tin. Hahahaha. Mmmmm.......oily residue....*droooooooooooooool*
