I don't know how much interest anyone here will have in this but apparently a fourth movie is going to be made in the Hannibal Lecter series. This time around though it will be a prequel chronicling the life of a young Hannibal Lecter. You can read a news article about it by clicking
here. Like the report says they will need actors to play Hannibal at age 12, 16, 20 and 25 so it seems unlikely that Sir Anthony Hopkins will be in the movie. Kind of makes you wonder what the point is then since Anthony is what really made the character a pop icon. Worse still it's rumored that Macaulay Culkin will be playing Dr. Lecter at one of those ages.
Even if the movie turns out to be crap Thomas Harris will be writing The Lecter Variation novel so that's some comfort to me. I find this funny though since Harris swore that Hannibal would be the last book he wrote in the series. Oh and if you are wondering what's up with the title it's a reference to The Goldberg Variation which Lecter is quite fond of.
