As a college student with lots of arcade tokens all the time, I've been hitting up Time Crisis (super deluxe 50" screen) every day between classes, because it's the only game in the U game room worth playing, really. As the days and weeks passed, I gradually became good enough to beat the game on one credit, and then to beat the game without getting hit.
Craving more, but not wanting to spend 4 tokens a pop on TC3, I went to TC2 and I'm working on beating that on one credit. TC2 is a helluva lot harder than TC, because memorization does not serve you as well, because normal enemies are about twice as likely to hurt you. I'm working out new strategies and stuff - in TC1, you have to be fast THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH to not run out of time by the end. In TC2, time is almost a non-issue, as it resets completely between every scene, and you only lose one life instead of your whole game if you run out. But guys are so much deadlier, and it's tempting to stay standing so much longer since the clips are 9 rounds instead of 6.
Also, a little known fact about TC1, you can get an extra life for each set of 40 consecutive shots you make. It's tough to do, but it's not THAT hard to do in the first two levels, and helps a lot for doing the one-credit finish. I can't figure out if TC2 has extra lives anywhere in it.
