It's basically a clerk dude taping up $99.99 stickers all over boxes of GCs and he turns around and they're stuck all over his face and stuff.  I didn't think it was THAT great of a comercial, but it's defidently better when you actually see it.

well...  It's working NOW.  Before it was saying that it couldn't find the file.  Maybe the server was having problems.  But the commercial was sort of funny.  Reminds me of work.    Crazy damn girls and their price guns.

I'm working on trying to capture a high res version of this on my computer.  That way it won't be so grainy.

That has got to be the cheapest commercial ever.
Considering how many billions of dollars Nintendo has, you'd think it could come up with something a little more extravagant for such an important announcement. At least the commercial gets the message across though.
If Nintendo could combine the big-budgetness of those artsy/freaky launch commercials with the informativeness of this dirt-cheap commercial, it would have a winner.

You must not watch television. . . heck, I don't even watch television, and I know that commercial is pure genius compared to most you see. . . there've been better, though.  I liked the cube ones, with all the cubes and stuff.  And cubes.  Yeah.

Yea I think the best ones were the simple ads for upcoming games like the EKG ones. I liked the RSIII commercial, it was simple and effective.

The best Nintendo commercial is the one for Yoshi's Island for the GBA.  I don't laugh at commercials often, but I found myself chuckling at Yoshi's voice

I really don't find anything funny about it. I suppose the reason why is because I don't get it. Why was his faced covered in $99 stickers? Was he trying to eat them or something? There's a guy singing horrible (okay that was somewhat humorous) putting stickers on the GameCubes and when his boss comes up he turns around and his face is covered in stickers. How is that funny? If they would have had a better set up as to why the stickers got there it might have been funny.

what I seemed to have gotten from the commercial (and I'm prob just readin into it too much lol) is that he singin bout taking his girl out to eat or something ( the singin sounds funny to me) which can be a result of the new price of the gamecube which now leaves him with extra money.   The stickers on the face I think has no real point but just a lil suprise to the viewer, somethin to attract attention by passer bys, since the commercial will look kinda basic but once someone sees the person wit all the stickers on their face, it'll get more attention than if they just showed him pricin the cubes.  The humor just seems to be in how wierd the guy is and reliese more on remindin the viewer on that wierd freind we all have lol.  I cant speek for others but that guy does remind me of one of ma freinds if they were workin in the stock area bored out their ass lol.  As far as I see it, they should keep using that guy in their commercials since none with him in it have been bad.  The first one was when he was givin the girl the "free" game during that advertisement period.  Now its this one and I can just wonder what other strange things that guy is goin to be up to in that store lol.  But again though, Im prob just readin into the commercial too much lol.

Um, no.  I'm part of the "older market" (age 31), and I thought the commercial looked like it belonged on Saturday morning cartoons.  It's chilidsh, not mature.

Mature would be violence or sex.  That would grab the older market's attention.

.

BEST NINTENDO COMMERCIAL EVER: Super Mario Brothers 2 (or 3? I forget)

It shows a HUGE crowd of kids chanting, "Mario!  Mario! Mario!" and then pulls back to show that the crowd = the United States in size.  The SMB2 artwork pops up and the announcer says, "Mario is coming! Get it now!" (or something similar).  It was simple, but it worked.  It made you feel as excited as the cheering crowd.

i beg to differ, i would put it to you that that would be (largly) immature, i thought the ad was good in a stupid way, something your average 'stoner' would be doing if he was working there, singing like a retard doing stupid things, stoners are funny creatures!

but yeah, that mario add with the chanting croud is awsome, its mario 3 btw

"Mature would be violence or sex. That would grab the older market's attention"

dam how can you be 31 and actually considering that mature?  I aint tryin to bust on your or anything but that is a very narrow minded way to look at maturity and what relates to "mature"  I'm only 21 and my opinion of bein mature is not having to designate anything to a certain type.  When your mature, you see everything with an equal eye.  So a commercial can be childish and still be mature at the same time.  Sex and violence doesnt usually mean its mature, more often than not its the other way around.  I do agree with you in the second sentence though, the sex and voilence would grab the older market's attention moreso becuase thats what the general consumers are accustomed too viewing so naturally it'll catch their eye.  First sentence is the only part I beg to differ.

Finally, I was able to get a high res capture of the commercial.  It weighs in at a little more than 3 MB.
