Kameo: Elements of Power
« on: September 19, 2003, 12:18:34 AM »
Holy crap this game looks awesome! I just watched the new trailer and WOAH! This game has come along way since its GameCube beginning. I want this game so much after watching that trailer

It looks like a real time Pokemon game, with elements of Metroid and Zelda! And it looks so damn FUN!

Screw you Nintendo for letting Rare go, screw you Rare for making games for Xbox, and screw you Microsoft for purchasing Rare

I dont want to buy a freaking xbox but I WANT THIS GAME

EDIT: Fixed link after waiting 20 MINUTES FOR THIS PAGE TO LOAD.

Having actually played Kameo at E3, I can say that if the actual game didn't change much, the quality of the graphics is quite trivial.  Color me unimpressed.  Don't throw "fanboy" at me, because I didn't think much of Kameo when it was a GC title.  But the good news is this the once-bustling Rare fansites now have something to talk about rather than... well, nothing.

Well i havent seen any footage from E3 or heard any impressions or anything, im just going by the new trailer that was shown at X03. But i think it looks really cool, it seems really epic in a Pokemon/Zelda kind of way... or something. However i havent played it. I would buy it if it was on GameCube *shakes fist*

Does anyone know it's release date? This game seems to have been in development for a long time, typical Rare

Mario, give it a miss.
I didn't care much for it when it was on GC, and I don't expect my views to change that greatly.

At least you'll have GBA Rare games!!!

I don't see anything special about this game yet. Looks like a standard third-person action game. With a morphball. That stone actually behaved WAY too much like the morphball, it even seems to have a booster and halfpipes! The rest looks like standard kill-everything gameplay. Are there any special features announced?

I actually was never interested in Kameo from the beginning. I dont know why, maybe because of all the other games that I was looking forward too.

Why is so hard to admit that you (all planet GameCube forum users) miss rare?

I miss Rare. I'll have my eye on this one. I'm actually kind of interested in "Grabbed by the Ghoulies" as well, we'll see though.

Wow, nice stereotype there.

I'll be the first to admit that I "miss" Rare developing games for Nintendo.  However, from the business perspective, Nintendo was correct.  The Rare sales for Nintendo accounted for only 1.9% in that fiscal year.  And since then (more than a year now), how many games has Rare released?  Um, one, two if you count Banjo (GBA) and both were for Nintendo systems.  Nintendo also gained some $185 million.  From a business standpoint, how could someone say Nintendo messed up?

Though I miss Rare, they definitely weren't worth Ninty's money on a business scale.

The game looks great...hope it gets released -_-

i wasn't interested in it myself when it was on Cube, but it looks interesting now. Some of the creatures you become are a bit odd, but i'd definitely like to see more. i just wish Rare would get rid of those pornstar female character models.

I miss Rare.  I miss Conker.  I don't miss Kameo.  I don't miss Banjo Kazooie.  I don't miss Donkey Kong Racing.  I don't miss their vaporware.

Hey, I can honestly say I was never interested in any Rare game. Battletoads for GB is the only Rare game I ever played. I don't miss what I never had.

What? Dude, I have been around here for 2 years, trust me, a bunch of guys in here weren't really looking forward to a lot of rare games. Don't come in and act like you know everything, when in fact you are just throwing around flamebait.

I guess I fit a stereotype well then because I loved basically every Rare title in the couple past generations.  Though not many in this world agree, Banjo-Kazooie is a great series, and I would rather have it than Kameo

Let's all go to a dictionary and look up the definition of a stereotype.

Stereotype:
An oversimplified standardized image or idea held by one person or group

Wow, so how would saying "Why is so hard to admit that you (all planet GameCube forum users) miss rare?" NOT be a stereotype?  Especially with that word all in there.

And mind explaining how not being interested in a Rare game is a stereotype.  It might be a prejudgement, but stereotype? No.

aL!En, can you be more ignorant?  Saying you don't like a game made by so and so company is an opinion, not a stereotype.

A stereotype would be me saying, "People who think that people who say they do not like a game made by so and so company is stereotyping are idiots."  You follow me?

i was interested in kameo originally, however the design of the game has gone in a different direction and it looks to be alot different then what got me initially excited. Perhaps it will still be a good game. Only time can tell.
