Baten Kaitos

Holy cow! This game is lookin' awesome!
Judging from ToS's quality and current sales, this game has got some massive potential and should end up great!

I think IGN said it best, Our frothing demand for this game increases!

Sounds interesting but I feel this game will come nowhere near ToS

Except for the battles, is this game starting to look a lot like Skies of Arcadia: Legends to anyone else? Airships, floating islands, evil villains, a large empire with "overwhelming military power"...

I'm excited, and at the same time... I'm not.

The less then entralling 'Lost Kingdoms' definately left a bad taste in my mouth for card based battles.  I'm much more anticipating ToS.  Still I'm not giving up hope that Baten Baitos could be a very kick ass game.

I haven't played the game obviously, and I don't know jack about the game.  But you are seriously wrong.  I am a little on the drunk side to be explaining myself right now.

the battle system will not be anything like lost kingdoms- its hard to explain the battle system but i will do my best- i think the system in itself is turnbased, but the cards are not like lost kingdoms or yu-gi-oh where you fight with them-instead the cards represent your actions to be taken on the field of battle- as opposed to going to a menu and choosing "fight" or "magic" or "item" or "run"  they are represented on the cards- random cards appear on screen, then you choose the card which shows these things- some will be regular attacks and variations on them, some will be magic (fire, water, wind, ect...) and you try to link these cards together for combos- say you choose 2 attack cards- that would be a 2 hit combo on the battle field- and if you link magic together with it you start to get larger attacks- but you cant link stuff like fire and water together for that would nullify the attack and do less damage (water puts out fire...) i hope this helps- this is how i picture the battle system from how the developers talked of it and what i have seen of it
i call the big one bitey.

Uh... You obviously don't know the CRPG clichees. Almost all of them have floating islands and giant evil empires. Airships are a bit less common, but evil villains are a requirement.
